Now then boyz n' galz keep this one on track, off political, and on topic - I post this with humor, a wry grin so to speak.

So the state of Kali sent me an IOU cause my accountant made an error on last years taxes.

Great, me thinks, I now have $754 I never had before!

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Issued in July, not cash-able until Oct.

So, time passages (sorry Kat Stevens) and now it's time to cash!

Take the IOU to BofA. Nope, no good here.

Damn.

Take it to my CU - nope, not, zero, nada, go away - worthless paper.

Today, a bill from the state of Kali...

I owe a little over 800 bucks..

Hee Hee

Guess what state entity is about to get their worthless IOU back? :****:

-- keep it clean folks, just sayin'.... (no political crap, stimulus jokes, etc) just please appreciate the pure irony of it all....

Just read in the paper last week that Calee-fornya is going to start withholding an extra 10% from workers' paychecks. Call it an interest-free loan to themselves. Must be nice, but won't supplement my 18-month 6.5% pay cut starting in January very well....

Oh, if it were only that easy. I suspect it won't be, but good luck anyway. It will be fun just arguing with them.

if it's good enough to give out, it's good enough to receive

Stick it to those *******s Don.

your story is another reminder why I never looked back after putting that state in the rear view mirror.

Ahem! Pardon me Don, but the real irony is with the idea of humor! :D

Here is where the notion of humor(s) came from (reportedly by the author, a British notion);

"With a theory based on that of the four elements, by the Middle Ages health was thought to depend on a balance of four fluids, or humors, in the human body: fire corresponded to blood; air to yellow bile; water to phlegm; and earth to black bile. The notion that health depended on the balance of the four elements arose shortly after Empedocles introduced his theory. The theory of the four humors developed by the time of Hippocrates (c.460-c.377 BC). We still say that people can be in a "good humor" or a "bad humor," and terms derived from the Greek or Latin names of the humors are still sometimes used to describe moods, attitudes, or personalities..." So, which is it? Good Humor, or bad humor?

You're my hero. :p

Great idea Don! Delivery the check yourself. Ride up to the steps and deliver it to Mr. Ahnoad himselfness. I'm proud of you for being such a good responsible FJRForum citizen. :D

Don't worry Carver, Bubba will be real gentle with ya.........

It's fine for the Gov't to pass bad checks, But You my friend...... Say Hello to Bubba. :bye2:

Good one on ya Don. They don't even deserve the piece of crap paper your sending them back. The dim-rods in Sacratamato could tear up a train wreck. I can't wait for the day I get to leave here. There trying to make it so you can't even by ammo through the internet. I'm sending another nasty letter to Anold, our guvinator to tell him to shaut up. Little girly boy.......was that political? :blind: :trinibob: :unknw:

Oh boy!

You should have saved this one for Friday Don!

Let's see how civilized this thread can stay before it gets tooooooo political... ;)

Now that all you Cali-boyz are loosened up real good I'd say you're ready to move to NY where you can really take it...

Ok...I guess I'm a little late to the party, and I kind of ignore California; but are you saying California wrote you a $754 hot refund check, and now they want you to pay them owed taxes with real money? Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahah.....You are going to return their check to them along with $46 bucks right? That should piss someone off. Maybe what you should do is sue California in Small Claims Court for the hot check just to be an ***-hole. THAT would be funny, and I bet you could win.
