Greetings;

I brain farted the sync procedure by adjusting the spring loaded screws on the FI gallery. Now its a mess! Looking in the factory manual I don't see how to set the 4 injectors. At start (with vacuum gauges)# 1 was off, so I backed off the the spring loaded Phillips screw about 1.5 turns. #3 was off also and I backed that one out about 3/4 turn.

It wasn't till later I realized I did the procedure for carburetors.

It wasn't till later I realized the synch screw is on the side of each injector body!

I rode the bike 200 miles and went from 45MPG to 35MPG. Hells bells!

Does anyone know the procedure to start from square 1?

thanks

WW

No carburators, and you're not adjusting injectors. All you're doing is setting the bypass air at idle. The answer is to start over. It seems you are doing the Fred W version of the Really, Definitely Completely Unauthorized TBS. Now that you know the difference between sych screws and throttle body screws, just start over. Close off the air screws and work to get the butterflies to lift evenly, then work on the air screws. Patience grasshopper!

I assume you have a Carbtune or equivalent and the vacuum is properly dampered. Don't feel bad. the first time I tried to do this I didn't have the damping constrictors in place. :unsure: You can do it, and I'm sure if you're having problems Fred will reply to your PM.

On my FJR these screws all have white pain marks, meaning that setting them back, close to where they were should be easy if you have good lighting.
