Were each forum member to donate $61.38 to my Get Rad a Hemi fund, I promise to give each member a 1/4 mile ride... :p But act fast-I only have about 8 hours to realize a dream.

Real Hemi Dart

That doesn't look like my grandma's Dodge! I think Mopar is trying to trick you. Don't buy it!

Now where did I see my checkbook?.........

Oh! Radman, ummmm where did you see this?

Radman, you jsut don't need this. It's painted black, and would get dusty real quick. And it's not what I would call a 'green' car - imagine the unburned hydrocarbons emanating from this beast !!! And just where would you park it? Eh? You'd have to move Frank out of the garage, and, well, that's just wrong!

(Now if I can just find that HELOC checkbook around here someplace ......)

Honey, you didn't need that new kitchen and room addition for a few more years, did you?

I'll send you my $61.38 - but for that much, I not only get a ride, but I get to fondle the shift lever. And maybe put my foot on the clutch pedal. And.....

Coincidentally, in the year I turned 16, my parents had bought a new '68 Dodge Dart that I got to drive on occasion. Of course, it was yellow, had a slant 6 in it with an auto trans, and IIRC, they paid a bit less than $295,000. Ahhhh the memories -- I recall having to clean the barf off the right side before returning home one night after a friend leaned out the window to decorate it.

Bet that pair of dual feed Holleys would drink enough distilled dino spirits to drive home the difference between today's fuel prices and the typical 25 to 30 cents a gallon we were paying back then, too.

I thought those were the magnetic cylinders that align the gasoline molecules to the correct polarity increasing their combustion efficiency. That alone should increase the gas mileage the promised 2-5 mpg. It should amaze the guys at the local "hang-out"....Wow, peformance AND gas mileage!

Dave, you don't want that....it only has a 4-speed transmission. Everyone knows it needs 5 gears and, while it doesn't tick, you can count on "buzziness".

Avgas 100/130 green is your friend.

Chrysler did some amazing things with their econo car. They did cars like this black ultra light as well as pushing the front wheels almost up to the bumper and moving the rear wheels back creating the Funny Car (looked funny with the wheels moved).

Awww, there's that damn Hemi word agin. Class was A/FX. Any of you west coast guys remember the old Fontana, as long as we're on the subject? And note the open face helmet, if it was good enough for Dick, its good enough fo da Rad.....

Some of us remember the "old" A/FX days. I particularly remember the "match race" tours those guys would take through the West in the Winter.

I've been wondering where the hell you've been lately. Now I see. Snubbed us for a little auto-lust.

I would have seriously considered buying this as a commuter car, but then I read the sticker on that said, "This vehicle was not manufactured for use on the Public Streets, Roads, or Highways and does not conform to Motor Vehicle Safety Standards"

Should be noted I sold a nice 69 440 Dart I had built to buy Frank. I may add another to the fleet, but I ain't gettin' rid of my 'ol pal, nohow. Otherwise, I've been busy on da Zook. Frames done, wheels are done, crank and cylinders are at the machine shop, new parts are anxiously awaiting install. And not a single ****** pic taken, I sux0rs at the restoration documentation. Steven Spielberg I ain't......... :glare:

Deja vu, all over again

It was summer 74, I had a 73 ford maverick with a boss 302 shoved into it and a bud had a 70 dart 340 swinger. Purple with a white stripe around the trunk. God that thing could run, something about those mopar starters, you knew something was going to happen.

And now I drive past a house with one in the driveway, all the tires are flat and hasen't moved in years. I wonder? Oh well.

There's something about an american pushrod v8 that just stirrs the juices.

Donaldb,

I know Greg from the MoparPonderosa personally. What you see on the website is a mere fraction of the pristine Mopars he has in his outbuildings. He camped out on a couple's curb in California to to buy one of the remaining 7 '71 Hemi Cuda 4-speed convertibles in existence. He got it. Mirror image(White with Black/Black with White) '71 440 Six Pack Cuda rag tops. One of the 31 '71 Hemi Road Runners that were ever built. Darts, Chargers, Cudas, Challengers, 300s, etc. It is a trip there.

First time I ever met him we went to his lake house to pick up a wing my brother was buying for his Cuda. He had two '71 340 Cuda Converts in the garage. Both with less than 20K on the clock. The wing wasn't in the garage. We went to the basement. He has a garage door leading into the basement of the house. Inside was a '70 Hemi Cuda Coupe with 21K. He also had a first year Datsun Z car in there. And the rest of the basement looked like a parts room at a Mopar dealer circa 1972. If you want any particular Mopar, give Greg a call. The right amount of cash will have it at your door within a few weeks most likely.
