Congrats Mike! Lots easier dealing with the local dealership than cross country, even if it means spending a few extra bucks.

It does seem that, for whatever reason, those of us who loved our brighlt colored Bass Bote Blue '05's have specifically sought out the equally bright Candy Apple Red '14's, especially since those that come with the electronic suspension. I guess we are out to prove that you really can put some lipstick on that pig.

You did good Mike! I have had dealings with A&S when I had a BMW. They are good people and very customer service oriented. I bought my 14ES from Roseville Yamaha mostly because I think Zac is one of the best Service Managers in this hemisphere!

That blue painter's tape really works!! I've used it many times when riding in early morning or late afternoon. Beats being blinded by sun glare.

Congratulations Mr. Mike. You will LOVE the cruise control. I knew I wanted that feature but I had no idea I would use it as much as I do.

In spite of the fact that I have copyrights to the terms "lipstick pink" and "lace panty pink", I think that the red '14 models are perhaps the most visually striking and best looking of all the FJRs. I like to joke with my friends Fred W and hppants about their red bikes but the truth is that those bikes look fantastic.

I am extremely glad to hear you have modernized to a Gen3. I have nothing bad to say about the Gen1s, they are still fantastic bikes. The Gen3s just have so much more to offer.

Dunno Tom. I got a new Neotec helmet with the built-in sun visor. That's doing the job so far, but I may put the tape back on for nostalgic reasons.

I absolutely agree, except for the typo where you put the already-used 2006--I mean 2016--blue in first place. And the red in third. Otherwise you're exactly right.

Thanks Mr. Fish. I also agree with you, but you also made a typo. Accidentally typed the word "perhaps" up there. By the way, that Neotec helmet is a nice bright "Old Michael Yellow." We gave him a lot of grief about that way back when too, but I like it. And it looks GREAT with the red bike.
