If the law in that state does not allow unmarked cars for routine patrol activities then I am very surprised that the department which provides the car does not know about it.

While I think that's awesome, I doubt we're going to get to have a lively conversation about it without violating the the "local laws" of the forum. There's no way way this isn't going political.

Not so as of late in my opinion. The admins have been pretty good lately and also the folks on the forum. I think they have been pretty reasonable myself.
