I had a run in with a guard rail on a ride a few weeks ago. The guard rail won and beat me and my bike up. I need to take the bike in to get an estimate for the insurance company. I live pretty close to Renton Motorcycles and I have gotten pretty good service from them, so I was thinking of just taking it in there. I know that Desert Valley Powersports has seen more FJR's so I am wondering if I would be better off taking it to them. Any thoughts? The bike runs but it would require me to take some time off work to ride it over to Prosser, so I was just curious whether that would be worth it.

Sorry to hear you had a scrape with a guardrail. You aren't the one that lost half of his leg are you?

Close is good. Take it in and pick it up. Pay for the estimate and charge the insurance company for the estimate. Clear it with them first.

My take on getting my estimate this month, showed me that they do them, but don't like to do them. I'm still riding mine and the repair bill looks like it will be around $6,600. Totaled?

I would suggest that you go to the shop near your home.

No, luckily that wasn't me. I am just bruised up good. Nothing broken or scraped. My Motoport kevlar mesh gear did great.

Thanks for the input.
