Some interesting advice hear.

FWIW to anyone else loooking...

I left GoDaddy for their stupid-*** policies. Very happy with 1and1 as my host provider! Although 1and1 offers some useful starter site templates, the limitations of the same have lead me to do FJRRally.com using PHP/mySQL. I do my editing in Dreamweaver.
I'm not *yet* up to speed on PHP/mySQL,always been a Windoeze admin, so it's all new to me. I chose iPage as they allow either full manual manipulation or simplified GUI's for admining the email, sql dbase, and CMS. So far soo good.

Any chance of getting a Los Robustos section?
Absolutely! Los Robustos and CBA are like birds on a feather. Or dogs on a tick. or,err, something like that! And, JoMamma is alive and well!
The site is still locked down - I have a beta group of testers providing me valuable input (WTFO, that ain't right!) but if you wanna look <clicky>.

Ahh, so that explains why I looked all over and found no where to register.

I checked it out. Set up a Los Robustos section and I will test it.

I've been on TypePad for several years. www.typepad.com

Not too far back I really junked up my blog so now it's slowww to load https://consilience.typepad.com, and then, fairly recently, I took up residence on Posterous https://fattymoon.posterous.com/ which imported my TypePad posts and set it up so that when I post there it posts to TypePad (but it doesn't post my edits, unfortunately). I use Posterous almost exclusively but I'm keeping my TypePad account active for when I announce my candidacy for president.

I've never had any problems with Posterous, perhaps because it's somewhat bare bones. TypePad can be as simple or complex as you like, but, every time I've had a question or a problem, the tech people got back to me within 24 hours. A good thing, that.

Avoid GoDaddy. They are awful about releasing your domain name and other things if you later try to move elsewhere. there are other horror stories i've heard about them too.

Square Space provides a BUNCH of tools so the non-programmer can do some pretty complex things without needing to know the guts underneath that make it work.
