Just did my first IBA run this past weekend

1000 miles (or 1600k for folks who think in metric)starting and ending in Vancouver, BC with the run looping through the interior

18 hours 5 minutes

I finished 2nd in a field of 16 bikes

The only FJR in the group

Heli risers and custom seat by Rich's out of Kingston,WA made the ride very comfortable indeed

I triple dog with sugar on top dare anyone out there to do an IBA run at least once!

It was fun putting all the Beemer snobs to shame!

Now you're ready for the BB1500...

Owen

Congrats on completing your ride! Quite an accomplishment. But as for your dare, well..... I don't really know if I could do that sort of thing.

So, now when are you going to complete the BBG1500, or 1500 miles in 24 hours?

Impossible. No one could ride 1000 miles in 18 hours.

You musta stopped for lunch. ;)

Congrats on your first SS1K. Now turn in the paperwork. Then start planning your next ride. There are all sorts of fun ones to do or make up your own and submit it to see if the IBA will accept the idea for a cert ride.

Thanks everyone

It is possible to do 1600k in 18 hours

That's 1000 miles

I packed water in a camel back, and food, mostly energy gels and protein bars, to eat while at gas stops

It was a 16 bike event that sponsored by the local BMW/Ducati dealer

We had a memeber of th IBA there who witnessed the necessary paper work, and already have my IBA plate and certificate

it wouldn't take much to another 500 miles on one of these runs, but I like to think big: coast to coast in 75 and a half hours! :yahoo:

Now that there is funny Mr. SkooterG ;)

Congrats on the ride. You do realize that once you pull out Street and Trips and just start doing "what if" scenarios---> You are hooked and won't be able to stop :)
