After the finish of the IBR in Ontario, California, I would like to replace my oil prior the ~2800 miles trip home. I may need other service as well. Can anyone recommend a good dealer in the Ontario, California area?

Thanks Jerry. That is close! Looks like there service department is closed on Mondays.. Too bad as that is the day I was wanted to get the work done... May have to see if I can make Sat work.

If all you want is an oil change, I bet Hal Risser will do it for you at his house for less than the dealer charges. Or maybe even in the rally parking lot.

I'm the WalMart oil change champion of the south

Purchase 1 gallon ($22) and 1 quart ($6) Shell Rotella 5W40 synthetic in dark blue containers

plus SuperTech (made by Champion) 7217 filter ($3)

plus plastic oil catch basin ($5)

plus roll shop paper towels

discard basin and anything else you have no room for

pull out my 17mm wrench

done in 20min tops

I've even asked the service manager on a slow day what I was doing and he gave me a corner space in the shade

I personally fill up my right hard bag with tools, maintenance, and repair items including two quarts oil, paper towels, and a filter

I can do your oil change and most anything you could need (except tires) I will be at the Finishers banquet and i live 55 miles away......up to you let me know.

I live about 16 miles from Ontario, Work at home and can change your oil and tires if needed. If you want to send me a PM with details I would be more than willing to help you out.

I might even tell Fairlaner where I live

Wow! I just got in from working on the bike and I am overwhelmed by the forums response and generosity.

Ynotride looks to be the closest to Ontario and not much out of the way so that would be ideal. Fairlaner, I will need a filter and crush washer and maybe I could purchase those from you at the finishers banquet.

Thank you guys.

I have a stock of crush washers and filters from walmart. I also have gallon jugs of Rotella 15/40 deisel oil that I use in my bikes and truck. All you have to do is show up :D If you want different oil I could pick some up for you before you get here.

Now off to pack the bike for my trip to Zion and Bryce this weekend :yahoo:

I doubt you will find anything open on the Monday. Check your calendar, Thats the 4th of July. Stat Holiday on a long weekend. :)

That's why I decided to go ahead and plan my "rest" vacation at the end of the IBR till Monday. Plan on wandering around on Tuesday and getting tire and oil from wherever I can find. Then I will aim the bike for home after that.

I apparently tend to think of similar things to Perry a couple days later. Behmer and I are also going to be changing oil in Ontario but we are bringing all the stuff we need to do that with us (actually his wife is brining it down to us). She is also bringing us some front tires. Anyone in the area capable of swapping rubber? Otherwise I'll plan on getting my bike over to Rancho Cucamonga on Saturday.

If you can talk his wife into taking back your old tires than I can swap tires for you. I have two other guys lined up for tires already and I dont want to end up with a mile high stack of old tires :(

Done! Well I didn't actually ask her, but I'm sure that will fly. Thanks! I'll send you a PM with our contact info.

Walmart filters???????

Walmart filters???????

Hell yeah. They are only 3 bucks and are black just like the yamaha filters. Both my FJR and the Ninja use the same filters so I buy them in bulk. Been using them for over 40,000 miles now with no issues at all.

If I was a high roller like you I would splurge on the expensive K&N filters :p
