Albums. Now that's a tough question. If popularity can be gauged by sales, then Jackson's "Thriller" would take the cake as it sold more copies than any other in history.
Gary, the only logic in judging by popularity leaves you with one undeniable fact.....

McDonald's makes the most popular hamburger on the planet.

Personally, I wouldn't wipe my butt with one. Eat one????? I'd rather listen to "Thriller".
Wipe yer what? I'd be happy to see ya wipe down the Frankenbike once in a while. FWIW, I am not a Michael Jackson fan. But for some reason, he did sell a few of those Thriller albums. I remember walking the streets of Chicago every Saturday back in my Bible College days as I was working on inviting kids to ride the Sunday School bus every week. You wouldn't believe how MANY kids on the street who wore a single glove on one hand in 1984. Little did they know (at that time) that their hero wore that to cover the vitiligo on his hand. (disease: creates loss of pigment "spots" on the skin). And concerning Mickey's burgers, though I've eaten a bunch of them over the years, (haven't we all?) my preferred fast food is Taco Bell. As a matter of fact, based on what you said, if you ate enough hot sauce on dem tacos, you might indeed find those McDonald's hamburgers quite useful...

+1, Gunny; I still would do Stevie Nicks twice and take her to brunch, she lives just north of me in Paradise Valley, AZ! Hubba, hubba and hubba!

I often think if I was forced to listen to one album/cd for the rest of my life, which one would it be. Ya, theirs lots of good albums out there, and an infinite number of bad ones. In my old age, I've boiled it down to two choices.

Steve Ray Vaughn - Texas Flood

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon. (The Wall made the cut to, except I'd end up blowing my brains out).

I think the nod goes to SRV. I've never got tired of that album and, the more I've listened to it, the depth that it has.

Lots of good things here. I'd have to agree that narrowing it to 1 is nearly impossible.

The Dead, Europe 72

Clapton, Unplugged

Zepplin, Houses of the Holy

Metallica, (pick one)

Uriah Heep, Demons & Wizards

B. B. King (pick one)

Alice Cooper, Killer

Ry Cooder, Crossroads

Ten Years After, A Space in Time

Primus, Pork Soda

Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon

I could go on.

+1, Gunny; Bounce, if I was given a choice of my 12 favorites your 11 picks would also be on my list. Add the Carpenters, to make Wheatie Boy happy!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned The Eagles. After listening to Hotel California for a week:

I've got that song on as a loop in our house...along with telephone ringtones.

With the volume turned up to "11"...

The neighbors seem to love it. They always talk about it at our neighborhood gatherings.
