So, If Yamaha FJR Division, listened to its core customers, and decided to add the one little item that should have been factory insalled in the first place... What ever would you like that item to be..... hmm?

I know hands down what I think it should have been..

And maybe Yamaha has thought about it, but when does any manufacture want to satisfy its customers....

Oh ya, I rode today, DID YOU???

Small changes that could easily be addressed at the factory, pick one:

For comfort: a windshield that provides a quieter ride with less buffeting.

For safety: mirrors that actually let you see what's behind.

For performance: neutral handling, longer-lasting tires.

Beyond these, anything else would be gravy on an otherwise great bike.

Turbocharger :yahoo:

And magical tires that last 50,000 miles with great grip.

Ok, maybe a 6 speed would be nice, or make 5th gear taller by 10% or so- that'd be a wash. I don't like shifting much but a bit closer gears of a 6 speed would be nice.

I'm amazed it took 4 posts to get a six speed requested.

If I get a vote I would like canceling signals just as a safety feature.

As all wish list's goes hand in hand with a price increase on the bikes final cost. But if I chose one it would be a suspension that wouldn't have to be upgraded to perform like the after-market items we all have done or would like to. PM. <>< ;)

How my Harley that ran and handled like crap, didn't have a computer, tach or a clock had self canceling signals still baffles me...

and yes I rode today, around the island, can't even remember hitting 5th or even 4th gear for that matter

No one should be allowed to build and sell a motorcycle, using "Touring" anywhere in its description, that doesn't have factory installed Cruise Control.

These people should be dragged out of their offices and pulically flogged. After which, they should be seriously humiliated. Of course, I could be wrong about that. ;)

Arrrrrgh!
SkooterG, My Son: What in the hell are you doing up at this hour? You haven't gotten up this early since your last day in the Navy. Your Mom and I are so proud of you!

BACK ON TOPIC: My 2003 FJR left the factory without a beer bottle opener on it and I had to add my own. All beer bottles in Mexico require a church key to open them!

There is no question that the FJR is nothing short of an excellent bike however when you do not keep pace with technology and with your competitors you fall behind and that is what Yamaha is doing with this bike. I believe the Sport Touring market is a rather small part of the overall MC market and Yamaha does not want to spend the money needed to get the FJR updated. They can only ride this situation just so far before you start to lose your loyal customer base to others who have spent the time & effort to update their products. Yamaha needs to address this very soon or just leave the Sport Touring market instead of watching this excellent bike die a slow and painful death, and this comes from a rider who has onwed 4 FJR's and continues to feel like this is the best bike I have ever owned.
