It's said that misery loves company...so...ignition switch failure is not limited to FJRs..
Way the hell up in East Poultney, Vt. my friends Blackbird would not start, no lights, dash , nada..He cycled the switch and it started, then stalled-completely dead. After dicking around with it for a while..searching for a main fuse [apparently none},checking battery connections, cussing and kicking.. I slit open the harness to the switch, found line and load , connected them with a wire nut, and it ran all day..
Basically the same info that I learned on this forum years ago...
Oh yeah, the cam chain tensioner in that 'Bird **** the bed in Gorham, NH a couple years ago and we had to get a truck to bring it home...700 miles round trip..
Meebee the FJR and Blackbird have the same father??
