Want to know how to get the guy with the snow blower to break into a smug smile? Start shoveling your driveway.

If I'd have had to suffer another winter in Cleveland, I'd have bought one just to kill the stupid smiles on my neighbors faces as I threw snow the old manual way.

I'll confess that I wear my warm, waterproof riding boots and my warm waterproof winter gauntlets when I run my snow blower and even at -10ºF I'm as comfortable as possible. My neighbors already know I'm weird and no longer point and laugh.

Yesterday, while trying to remove a branch of the Lambert Glacier from both my driveways I managed to shear the shear pin on one auger and bent the tip of the other auger to the point that it was destroying the auger chute. Got some fun wrenching time on the concrete floor of my unheated garage while I put things right.

Last night it snowed again, so I get to go out and do it all over again. Again, again, again. On the bright side, it will be two whole days before we get sleet and a lot of freezing rain. Rain @ 25º = lotsa fun as the southerners have been finding out this year.

Weather shift in the south. Last nights overnight low was higher than our day time highs for most of last week. 65F when I rolled the bike out to ride to work this morning.

Seriously, this is WAY better than dealing with that snow crap. Do like I did and move south.

I was just walking around the front yard to see if it was dry enough to run the ZTR and cut the grass. My lawnmower weighs 850 #s and I weigh... Uh, anyway it is difficult to imagine one of those machines parked next to my lawnmower and my tractor. If it snows so much the front end loader on the Monster Fergusson won't move it, I am living too far North.

It's snowing again, got a call from the small engine shop. Electronics on my snow blower are shot. Cost of repair along with other recommended fixes, might as well buy a new one.

I am from northeast Iowa and I finally said "Enough is Enough"
Ah, I see. So you are what we refer to as a "Damn Yankee". That is to say, one that did not go back north.
Just great. Now you're gonna hurt his feelings. I hope you're happy. I don't know any derogatory words for Louisiana based weirdos, but if I did, I'd use them right now.

Damage is done, I have scheduled counseling sessions to help cope with this strange form of Louisianna cruelty.

For now... I will avoid the state!

Oh, and in keeping with the traditions and reputations of Floridians...

....you will hear from my attorney !!! LOL

Oh my. I cannot do anything right. Please allow me to apologize sincerely. I now realize that I was insensitive, abusive, inconsiderate, and wrong.

Please let me set matters right. Rather than criticizing you for not going back up North, I should have been praising you and thanking you.

So: Thank you for settling in Florida. We have too many of you Yankees in Louisiana.

At least neither of us is running a snow blower. I now feel certain I will be cutting the cursed grass before the weekend.
