That was one of the more painful videos I've ever watched. I'd rather face an angry bear than do what those guys did.

In my younger days I've been at the 500' level on a 900' tower, at the very top of a 200' tower, and at the top of a small 60' self supporting tower. Just looking down at the antennas mounted below me pointy-end-up on the 900' tower made my butt hurt! It was spooky hanging onto the beacon housing on top of the 200 footer; but it was down right scary on top of the spindly 60 footer. The top of that thing swayed in a circle over a foot in diameter whenever I moved!

I think they call it terminal velocity. It's about 126mph or something.

I'd have to think it'd be vastly safer to wear a small chute and BASE the thing. Downclimbing is much scarier than going up, and much more tiring.

25 years ago i would have rode the elevator up and climbed up inside that tower. never would have got to the outside of it though
