Should I fill the crankcase with mud, sand or sawdust? I’ve always changed my own oil in everything I’ve ever owned. Trying to find a straight answer on the forum is like trying to research it on the internet, only to be shifted from one pop-up to another.
I have used Mobil-1 [(designed for 4-strokes) for motorcycles] for the past three bikes I’ve owned and my three ATV’s. It seems to work; nothing has blown-up recently!
I understand this topic has been run into the ground many times over, but those of us new to this forum would still appreciate a simple answer. My manual indicates never use oil designed for diesel engines, yet I read on this forum to use Shell’s Rotella oil. I used regular oil in my vehicles for many years, now I prefer to use synthetic oil. Why, I don’t know, maybe I want to piss my money away.
I really don’t want to use Yamaha oil, nor would I use Suzuki oil in my Suzuki or Honda oil in my Honda. And I never use Ford oil in my Fords.
Suppose someone can tell me which oil “they” think is best in the FJ? What oil does the famed “Jestal” use in his bike? I can’t seem to find a straight answer on this forum. I tried reading through the [NEPRT] listings and had no luck.
