I'm planning a ride to Prince Edward Island late July.

I personally know two people who have traveled to Canada for a week of snowmobiling only to have their snowmobiles and in one case truck, trailer, & sleds stolen while at a motel. Is this a problem with motorcycles too? I carry a heavy duty cable lock to make it difficult to wheel a bike away but pro's can load a bike in a van and be gone in less than five minutes. Should I be looking for places to stay that have better security like a garage to lock the bike in?

Here is my recommendation to get from Bangor to Baddeck. This is from growing up in Amherst and riding most of the roads at one time or another. It keeps you off the highways (other than where I couldn't get Google to remove the loops), give you lots of view and twisties, and even lets you look in at Ron Joyce's (Tim Horton's) pet project (Fox Harbor). Maybe you'll see a celeb. land in their G4 to go out on their 130 footer?

How do you get to see any of that when the landing strip and the private marina are far removed from public view within the confines of a gated by-invitation-only (or for a hefty fee) resort ? (and, IIRC, it's not even ID'd as Fox Harbor Resort).
Sorry to rain on your parade ;)

See here. You can drive in.They have a very nice facility. The pictures they seem to have on the site don't really do the accomodations justice, but I only looked for a min or 2.

Their phesant preserve is pretty much modeled after my step-fathers and friends (Upper Wood Lake Rod and Gun Club) which they had there until RJ started buying up all the land in the mid/late 90's. Nice upland bird shooting around there.

worney thanks for taking the time to do that. The route from Bangor to Lubec is my planned return route.

The only celebs I care to see are the ones that hang out here on the forum.

MEM I'm torn between heading to Fredericton and meeting up with you or hitting St Andrews as you recommended. I'll be up there on a Tuesday so heading your way may not work if you work

I'm staying the second night near Antigonish so that will give me a little more time to explore St Andrews or Fredericton and the Sunrise Trail and hopefully meet up with maddad and Canadian FJR.
