Sounds to me they are trying to re-invent the F-4 Phantom.........

Americas proof to the world that given enough engine power, even a brick will fly!

Ray :p

The little ladies out for pleasure rides ain't gonna appreciate that sudden shove into the topbox. I see a lot of helmet slapping in wing pilots' futures.

Video us a burnout when you get it, K? :clapping:

And wheelies!!! Gots to have GW wheelies!

Size AND power. Sounds like the perfect Florida bike!

This from the guy who was looking wistfully at a VFR that was for sale? And these guys are "buying" it....good one, Uncle Tim! :yahoo:

And for the record, should you even look at the Turbo-Wing.....

You'll shoot yer eye out, kid! :dribble:

Ah, but the wistfull look at the VFR is just longings of youth. The talk of the wing is acceptance of the truth.

I just split the difference; I sold my VFR and got the FJR. I can't accept that I am ready for the 'wing yet either !

Those boys aren't fooling around over there on the GL forum. One said the formula was working out on 1.8 liters at 7 lbs. of boost somewhere between 165 to 200 horse! And really 7 lbs. sounds conservative with just slightly higher boosts hp takes a nice jump. Thats not too shabby and with the turbo kickin in at 2000 to 2400 rpm's there should be no turbo lag issue to deal with per say. I know with some of the new cars running turbos, turbo lag is a thing of the past. FJR's next? I think this topic has come up recently and was shot down here but maybe the Wings boys have a good idea? Keep us up dated Tim....very interesting. PM. <>< B) :D

With that hot turbo located where it is and that much torque, rear tire life should be reduced to hours!
back in the 1800's, they told the folks who were trying to invent/build trains not to bother because humans would suffocate due to the air pressure if travelling at speeds in excess of 30 mph.

The only time I'd actually go to a pessimist is when I need to borrow money. (since they often don't ever expect to see you pay it back)

I say lets see these dudes turbo their wings and who the hell knows what might happen! Zoom? Blurring images of huge yellow juggernauts flying like the wind? or a loud bang! with black smoke clouds? who knows - but it sure is fun to watch, eh?

mind you - who said five and a half large for the turbo? Buy a really nice VFR for that too.....
