Don't get me wrong - there's plenty of brain damage to go around among the three starring roles in this video. But you need look no further than :57 to realize that, yes, Virginia, there really are drivers that don't give a **** whether they kill you.

Unbelievable.

I can't say I have never driven fast on a roadway, but in a couple places somebody could have died. And some drivers and riders don't care. It's videos like this, and behavior like this that just give ammunition for stereotypes. Pisses me off. I wish they'd find a track to run on.

First, INSANE is an apt title for the video.

Next, it looks like they know one another and are "playing" together.

Last: STOOPID! This type of behavior is partly why motorcyclists (and ST bikes that resemble sport bikes) have such a great reputation with the non-motorcycling citizenry, and the various law enforcement agencies.

I guess it's easier to impress your peer group while riding against law abiding citizens rather than actually attending a riding school or participating in a track day with other bikers who actually "know" what they're doing. :glare:

Being a parent of a male teen, I have to say...I understand why some mothers kill /eat their young. These guys would be great candidates, and what a philanthropic thing to do for society as a whole..*L

Now how does that Tshirt go? - "Some people are alive only because it is against the law to kill them"

If we culled for 'stupid', we'd have a LOT more room on the planet.

I only got as far as :32 before I had to pause it. Based on your topic title, I was expecting that nice couple to get splattered.

In life there are no pause buttons. How many years will pass and how much of their daddy's money will be spent before those jackasses learn that?

The dad is probably in Porsche..

Simply....Irresponsible

And it's these jackasses that cause accidents where they walk away unhurt and someone else has to pay for their stupidity with their life.

Hi, my name is sport and I'ma race-a-holic.

About two years ago I sold my crotch rocket for that exact reason. I was too aggressive on the streets and knee draggers were becoming common. Because there is no track near me, and because I wanted to get more into touring, I sold her to buy the FJR. It has definately slowed me down in the curves.

I remember when I was younger tracks were easier to come by...yet liability has closed most of them down. What is more dangerous, racing on a track or the open roads?

Fred, I'm with you on the idea that this must have been a rhetorical question.... but sadly, it probably isn't.

Folks don't tend to realize that on the race track you don't have other traffic not participating in your race. And the get off areas are generally controlled with nice things like gravel pits, instead of guard rails, cliffs, oncoming traffic, trees, ,or rockwalls.

The biggest issue for me is that I've seen innocent bystanders get nailed by idiots "racing" and for my money, if the ***** gets killed in the accident too, its too good for 'em.

On the positive side the Porsche driver did have his hands in the correct position in case his airbag deployed. :)

I can't claim to be totally innocent myself when it comes to the street however that was just insane. I just hope no innocent people get hurt why they pull off those stunts.

This would probably have served as the "OWNED" vid of the year had he come around one of those corners and been met by officer friendly with a laser gun pointed right at him.

Surely that is a rhetorical question. Right?

My name is Rick, not Surely, and yes, that was rhetorical. ;)

I'm a bit confused as to why judges and such feel they're doing justce by closing down the open tracks as it provides an outlet for thrill seekers. Closing tracks down doesn't take the seeking away; and as such, they take their thrills to the street. In my estimation, the court system just made it more dangerous for us to be out on the road.

What Judges have closed down tracks? Is this some kind of trend that I am not aware of?

I was under the impression that most racing venues (tracks) close down due to financial (liability) issues and the high cost of maintaining insurance against said liabilities.

+1

The cost of liability insurance is a huge factor around here, and it even leads to a lot of the drag strips being 1/8th mile instead of a full quarter. Many track day organizers have ceased to operate in this neck of the woods too, and the stories always point back to the cost of liability insurance, and the foolishness of organizing without it.

If you operate without insurance, and end up on the losing end of a liability case, a court could close you down. Maybe that's happening in some areas. Something must have happened a few years back, because that's when several track day organizers quit, and some tracks closed, in our area.
