In the bright sunlight those big green flaming arrows are not always easy to see. The indicating lights have been upgraded from incandescent lamps to LEDs on the '06. I wish the system would provide the rider a short toot of the horn whenever the turn signals haven't been switched off.

If you want I can follow you around and honk my blaster's at ya until you gets the drift.

All in good fun of course... :D

The new inner panels under the instument panel are fairly tough to install and will be just as hateful to remove as the headlight adjustment knobs are located in each one. The is a very small screw that has to be remove to get the knob off before the panel can be removed. They did however switch over to the same reusable rivet in all locations instead of having one type here and another type there.
This seems like a lot of assembly for a Japanese bike. Did you do extra work, or is this required for assembly?

I thought it was just the front wheel, windscreen and maybe the handlebars.
Your totally missing the curiosity factor! :coolio:

Not for nothing, (what does that really mean anyways?) My 1982 Suzuki GS850 has self cancelling turn signals that still work! It's a great function. If you are stationary at a stop light they stay on until you start going then cancel. Kinda suprized they did not do that on this bike.

I agree. I'm the original ower of a 1985 Honda V65 Sabre. It has self cancelling turn signals & they still work. B)

21 years later & Yamaha can't include a relay?

Oh noooooo, Mr. Bill!

This thread is morphing into the a dreaded "Never-Ending Pointless Recurring Thread" about self-cancelling turn signals.

Here, I'll give you the conclusion and eliminate all the discussion: So what! Would'a, could'a, should'a...been discussed and opined forever. If you MUST have self cancelling signals, ride the bike that has them. The rest of us have adapted and this is such a small nitpick compared to all the bike is. Buy the Kisan system and add it yourself, or install a beeper to the signal system so you have an audio warning, but leave the base price alone...don't complain, whine, snivel or cry, just farkle it.

As for me, it's just one more thing that makes me stay in tune with riding the bike and concentrating on what I'm doing rather than letting some electronic system do a rather mundane chore for me. In the end, it's my responsibility. What's next, auto-dimming of the brights?

Uhhmmm, if its really too difficult, I'd be willing to come and do the break-in on your bike until you've adapted. ;)
