"Note: The TDM 900 requires an Oxygen Sensor Eliminator Kit, sold separately.

Oxygen Sensor Eliminator Kit, Product ID #76423005."

Does it require this part for the 06? I can not find this part on the web page, anyone know its cost?

The TDM 900 is a Yamaha model not sold in the US. :)

The FJR does not require this. If you want to have one for a paper weight, they are $15.00.

Just strapped a used PCiii onto my bike w/ D&D cans already in place.

It came with the WK smooth map on it.

At startup, I didn't hear any difference at all.

Then I loaded Mark Johnson's map for D&D's.

Oh SNAP!! Damn. The change was instant, and on the run.

It was like she had been clearing her throat and finally decided to sing.

Rmble, rmble, bmble, bmble.... vRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Peak exhaust volume dropped a couple decibels.

Two snaps up with a twist! :yahoo: I didn't expect anything that dramatic.

You don't need a dyno run to hear the difference just at idle.

A wet test ride confirmed it. The Feej has been hitt'n the gym.

Thanks to Mark for sharing your map and cool web site.

With the D&Ds, the "D&D map" is much better than Wally's in low rpms.

Although I can still get some burbling on hard decel, it has been significantly reduced.

Maybe there's room for improvement to personalize the map to my bike.

No info on mileage yet, but it hardly matters as long as it is not horrible.

Regardless of power gains, putting on the D&D's made the FJR sound like an authoritative and growling machine.

Add the PC to that and now it sounds like a well lubricated, high precision authoritative snarling machine.

56 degrees and sunny on Sunday. :good:

Time to put a comma on an exit.

CONCLUSION:

I doubt I could justify just a power commander for a stock 03-05.

I always thought the fuel injection with the Barbarian mode was perfect.

But combining it with aftermarket pipes, makes the difference.

Pipes alone. ehhhhh. just louder, no harm done, but a waste of money.

PC alone. ehhhhh. if it aint broke why are you fixing it.

Pipes + PC. Ya baby!!

Okay, time for a newbie question.

Disconnecting the O2 sensor will do what when I take the bike in for service? Or am I to completely disconnet and remove the PCIII prior to any service visit?

I live in So Cal and with all the damn CARB requirements I don't want to mess with anything that'll "void" my warranty.

Thanks for any info.

If you are using a PCIII, the sensor should already be disconnected. Since we have no emmision inspections on bike in California, I see no reason to do anything else when taking the bike for service.

Will the PCIII effect any "codes" that the dealer can see?

Sorry for the questions, while I like what I'm reading I'm not necessarily comfortable to plug anything into my FJR that may cause the warranty to be voided.

That's actually a pretty darn good question.

I have read quit a bit and have not seen any comments about this.

But, I am still a power commander newb.

I assume there would be an oxygen sensor fault seen in the diagnostic scan.

Put all back to stock set up when you go to the dealer.Just couple of plugs to undo

one for the main connector and one for the 02 sensor

Put a Powercommander on last night. With the throttle pulley mod & PC111 it is much more controllable for the twisties. Going to give it a good test in the next few days. Went to Lake Havasu & back a couple of days ago (420 miles round trip) in just over 5 hrs. Just a lunch trip but now have fresh memory to compare upgrade with. Had a nice 140 stretch for a few miles....

Thanks again to Jeff @ https://www.sportbikeeffects.com/products.asp?cat=8572

FJRobert,

Sounds like you were covering some ground. Was just curious if ya have switched over to an aftermarket shield?

Yeah, I guess that's what I'll have to do. Haven't taken a look to see how difficult it is to get to the O2 sensor on my 2006 though.

When you have the tank pop up its on the right side easy to find.

It's a black connector with 4 wires on the '06 model
