I'm installing one on GreyGoose's '06. I have an '05 but may be getting an '07 so I wanted to see how this goes together and whether it'll help...

Read all the other posts - GREAT JOB GUYS! One question though:

I'm trying to envision all the various steps involved and what I'm having trouble with is what holds the fork tubes and wheel in alignment after the old top t-tree comes off? Is it only the tension of the lower clamps and the axle nuts? Is front-end alignment something I need to worry about during installation? If yes, what do I need to know?

Anyone else in the Cincinnati Tri-state area thinking about doing this mod? I'm cheap.

Your lower triple clamp holds the forks in alignment when you remove the upper clamp. Just don't move the bike while the upper clamp is off and follow the instructions provided by Heli. I installed it myself without any problems in about two hours. The biggest pain in the process is drilling out the two security bolts on the ignition module. USE A DRILL PRESS. DON'T TRY TO FREEHAND THIS! Cover your key opening to keep from getting metal shavings inside. Then start drilling with a small bit and only drill about half an inch into the security bolt head. Then use a little larger diameter bit until you pop the bolt head loose. Then stop drilling and tap the ignition module loose from the original top tripple clamp. I totaled out my original top tripple clamp because I used too large a bit and drilled too deep. the next biggest problem is snipping the cable holders without cutting the cables themselves. I used a boltcutter to cut the wires. If you follow the instructions and aren't sloppy cutting cables, you will do fine.
