Finally pulled the trigger on an 08. I drove the 3.5 hours and bought it from D&H cycle. D&H are definitely in a class all by themselves when it comes to customer service. I have never been treated like that on anything I have bought. If I ever by anything else I will go back to Cullman, AL. It is shame they don't sell cars or deliver kids.

The bike is just awesome. :yahoo: We are still learning each other. I am going have to learn the "YODA" riding technique, because I start getting a tinge in the left shoulder blade area. I also need to adjust the handlebars back a little. That may help out a little also.

I would like to thank everyone on the forum for letting me lurk around and learn about this fantastic machine. I just need some time to put a few miles on "Black Betty"

I've never named a bike, but this one could very easily be "Black Betty".

She really gets me high

You know that's no lie

She's so rock steady

And she's always ready (bam-ba-lam) :yahoo:

:yahoo: Yet another successful assimilation! :yahoo:

Now you know why FJR owners are always smiling in the pictures....except in RM 105.

I had D&H install a set of sliders and the Yamaha heated grips. I used the heated grips on the ride home and boy are they nice! I hope that I never use the sliders but, they are there just in case. ( I almost dropped her in D&H's shop :poster_oops: ) I think the next farkle I am going to try to purchase is a backrest for my better half.

So I guess that I am going to have to change the name of my bike. We don't want too many Betty's. It doesn't really matter what her name is as long as she takes me where ever I want to go.

Has anyone ever had the low oil level light to come on for about thirty seconds while riding and then turn right back off? This has only happened once but, if it happens again I will probably take her back in for a check up.

Good on ya for the purchase!

Just curious... up here in the GWN, Heated grips are std. I take it that they are not on the US model. What does the option cost and is it the same as our factory system?

D&H installed them for what Yamaha charges for the set if you were going to install them. And I didn't have to wheel and deal to get it done. :D

I have about 16,000 miles on my '07 FJ and I gotta tell you ... I like it more every time I ride it. Something happened to it at 9,000 miles. It felt like it got about 15 more HP. Now if I flick the throttle a bit in first and gently pop the clutch I can ride a wheelie as far as I want. It never used to do that. Carving canyon curves at speed is a real thrill too. You can power through the turns passing traffic like there's no tomorrow .... oooops ... I'm starting to get carried away again. Sorry. Anyway ... have fun!

I had the same problem. Drove me nuts. Finally all gone after about the 10th full day of riding and now it is a total non-issue.

In other words .... ride more!!
