Just got my new policy from Allstate $903...OUCH. Went to Gieco for a quote, $1293 and Progressive, $1190. This for an 06 FJR AE and an 08 Harly Road King. No tickets or accidents. Can this be right. What do you guys pay?

Is that for one bike or two? There are a bunch of insurance threads, so search for those as well. I pay something less than $500 a year including collision. Closer to $400 as I recall. I go through Farmers. If you have the good fortune of being over 50, Hartford and Foremost have deals through AARP.

I'm sure you know there are soooo many variables when determining insurance rates (i.e. location, age, amount of use, credit/accident history, etc. etc.). I had a 00' ST1100 insured (full coverage) with Progressive at $300/yr. When I bought my 07' FJR they jacked the rate to $820/yr. I called State Farm, they wanted $650/yr. I ended up at Geico for $530/yr.

Oh, I live in Nash., TN and I'm 36 with a clean history

Just for '*****-n-giggles,' get a quote from State Farm.
I have found that my State Farm is fairly reasonable when I here what others pay for cycle and auto ins. I think they are good as long as you have a good record. Now that I have an FJR, I wonder how long I can keep a good record.

+1 Every other year I go through the process of getting quotes from several different insurance companies (Geico, Progressive - which has always given me an incredulously ridiculous quote and I don't know how they can even offer that price, AAA, etc.). State Farm has always had the best quotes (about $500/year with all the bells and whistles) and I really like my local rep. Give them a try. :)

It might be the Harley that is hurting you. I had a Harley once and the insurance was pretty high. Right now I have an 07 FJR and 07 Road Star and pay 396 a year. American Modern Lloyd's.
