25 years old... Remember this paint scheme? I can't believe they are killing this platform. Sigh.

Hey TWN... it happens. The best bike ever produced, the DT1 Yamaha, is no longer available either.. :D .

Eh, sorry, Donny. The Viffer is almost universally hailed as the greatest all-around bike ever made. Really. I read it on the in'nernet somewhere. ;)

Hey TWN..

1. Not Canadian.. Eh?

2. The DT1 existed before the Internet.. You do remember, eh? :D

3. Truly, the Viffer was/is a great bike.. but then again Honda no longer makes 2-strokes.. Get with the program eh Mr. Nut? (no wonder you don't ride an AE....) ;)

There are quite a few used VFRs in Cycle Trader. Do we see a used one in the Baron's future?

Hmmmmm, how to explain the "need" to Mrs. Nut.

Have the sales of the VFR gone flat? Especially compared to the rest of the Honda sportbike offerings. If it was making money and selling I imagine Honda's gods of the sales force would keep it. Perhaps the new Blackbird is going to be a morph of the last "Dos Equus" and the Interceptor. Now that could be "verrrry interesting".

When the 1000 Interceptor came out ('83 issue of an '84 model???), I was the enabler (with the latest magazine articles) responsible for my neighbor/riding buddy promptly ordering 2 and taking the first one. My Suzuki GS1000EC seemed suddenly obsolete. Rheostat powerband, it seemed. Rode it a couple times and was in love.

I bought one of the 1st in Canada & rode it to over to Buffalo & sold it for a tidy profit 2 days later :D ....just love the bike with real horsepower that you guys in the U.S. couldn't get back then  ....

i wanted this bike when i was looking for my first one back in the day. still sad i never got it.

oh yeah? like u pay for it and i ride it?? somethin like that mikey??!! ;)

Mikey is you frien'. Mikey will keep you bike in his garage. You can ride it whenever you is in town. Gee, Mikey...whatta guy! You gonna keep it warm and run-in, too?

Yeah, the sales took a dump when they went VTEC. My dealer told me they went from 15 - 20 VFR's a year to less than 5 after the change.

And though I keep my eyes open for a like-to-mine '99 - '01 Viffer, cherry and stock, I hold little hope of finding one. Honestly, Alaska's been calling and leaving messages that the gravel roads are a wee bit bumpy and messy. So, I've been thinking of a Strom/GS kinda machine to add to the stable.

Oh, and if Mrs. Nut doesn't feel the need to explain her Prada addiction (Um, sweetums? Why are all my wingtips and loafers in a box under the bed instead of in the closet? You know that is way bad Feng Shui...) then I ain't gonna feel the need to justify another bike. Dig? :)

"You can fool some of the people some of....."Honda's VFR version of VTEC is really dumb, imo. So is the retrograde step to chain driven cams from gear driven.

'00 yellow is 'da bomb'. B)

For you Mike & the chik I would keep the bike warm & running  :derisive: ....anyone else take a no3

I wondered. If the VFRs were still selling then Honda would keep them in the line-up. Too bad they engineered the bike into a sales failure. Still, 25 years is a loooong time in the current bike market, and it wasn't "outdated" and technology challenged like the Connie.
