Dear gawd! My eyes hurt now

The checkered flag idea doesn't match... but needless to say, somebody spent a LOT of money on that paint job.

Somebody had a dream and followed through --- not my dream but done well.

It got looked at a lot more than it was ridden. Just enough mileage for one oil change after the breakin (although they said it was serviced every 1000 miles). Still only 4x in 7 years.

Paint is unique and well done. I kind of like the effect.

I like the orange, but not the checkers. To each his own. Maybe someone will buy it and show up at NAFO so we can see it in person.

Going to be a tough sell. Paint was pricey, and does not add to the value (detracts from it in my mind).

Ya, I was just going to mention that there will be strong buyer resistance at $10,250, and strong buyer resistance for an AE, and strong buyer resistance because of the 'autistic artistic interpretation' of the appearance.

In another thread I mentioned that in most cases a bike's color wouldn't make much of a difference to me buying a bike, but there could be some colorS that would. This.

I was thinking at a better price point, say, $2k I could be interested in the bike. Upon thinking about it some more, I realized I would be tired of the appearance before it was up for the first valve check.

Someone had too much time on their hands! Looks nice (for someone), as mentioned bags need something to tie them into the package.

Gonna be a tough sell at $10K...

Just...wow.

Thoughts; 1: Lotta work went into that scheme, at least from the pics. If you saw it live and saw tape lines, stick-on graphics or the like, then it loses some of the quality angle.

2: For that age, the price is way too much, regardless of the paint.

3: If you're going to modify a bike that severely, you have to consider that your return is enjoyment, because it's so far away from the mainstream that you're going to lose everything you put into the paint.

4: I like it better than the skulls and bones one that sold earlier this year (I'm pretty sure that one belonged to one of the members here--apologies)

I knew you couldn't live without my sterling opinion this morning...

You may be thinking of Hellcreep's bike. His AE was last listed at $4k with a $2.5k paint job.

I love the orange, the rest of the color scheme is okay. She is dreaming on the price. Bought my 06 with 4K miles for $6400 back in August. I could see 8K maybe but 10K she is dreaming. Another great lesson about how you never get the money back that you put into your bike.

Looks like a cartoon character puked all over it. What some people fail to understand, is that

a "custom" paint job on a bike like that actually lowers the value, not the other way around.
