For the last 11 weeks I have spent a lot of time looking at public policy (related to my MBA with emphasis on Public Administration) and done a LOT of research on helmet laws, studies, and statistics. My head is about to explode with all this information, luckily I am just a few weeks from being done. I have found many great resource sites, but this site is pretty cool: Link
I found a lot of interesting information here:

Here are a list of some of the reports I found interesting:
Number of Pilot-Reported Near Midair Collisions (NMAC) by Degree of Hazardhttps://www.bts.gov/publications/national_transportation_statistics/html/table_02_30.html
Estimated Number of Lives Saved by Use of Restraints
U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue Statistics, Fiscal Year
Maps of Structurally Deficient Bridges on the National Highway System
Leaking Underground Storage Tank Releases and Cleanups
There are some numbers here that are just plain interesting. I thought some of you might find some of this stuff interesting. Such as, the Coast Guard saved 5,216 lifes in 2007. Holy smoke, I had no idea they averaged saving 14.29 lifes a day. I do however wonder how many of those were in Lake Tahoe since we have a Coast Guard Station here.
