OK, now that they are off to the best start in school history, I have to give a shout out for them.

And include a picture of my garage queen '08. (On the Dragon)

Not the best Iowa team though, but they keep finding ways to win! … For now

Shout out heard, by a guy whose Yellow Jacket season was over in mid-October. Got a 4-inch tall Buzz on the back of the starboard hardcase so it's easily visible to people I pass.

Never thought I'd be interested in the Big 10 till my son went to Northwestern, which, for the 'Cats, is having a banner year.

I went to UNC (for grad school) so I'm excited that they'll play Clemson for the ACC title. As a Hawkeye, you, too, should be rooting for the Tarheels to knock off Clemson!

Been there on the Dragon, but not for years now. I guess it never changes!

^^^^Screw that noise.
You want to be cheering for the Clemson Tigers. They represent the southeast well.
With a handle like "Yanktar"?????? Where do you think it comes from??? (hint: The "tar" is from "Tarheel" )
Yeah...I do remember...still, you need to come to the dark side...cross that SC line.
Not happening. Why would I pull for a school I never went to, nor one my kid isn't going to? Makes no sense at all.

Unfortunately, Clemson is probably going to destroy UNC in the ACC championship. But if games were decided before the kick-off, why play them? I still remember the Giants taking out the "18 and Oh-No!" Patriots!

Au contraire, Yanktar. Although Clemson is #2 on "The Hud Hate List", I gotta pull for my ACC cousins. Anybody who beats the egotistical SEC out of a national title is (at least for a week or two) my friend.

Don't get me started on the Big Ten. (Hello, college boys, there are fourteen teams in your conference. How can you be a STUDENT athlete when you can't count to ten accurately?)

Um...Hud, they can't count to 14 accurately. Seems like they have counting to 10 in the bag.

We're talking UNC vs Clemson. No WAY I'm pulling for Clemson to beat the 'Heels! (though they'll probably shellac them...

)

And the ONLY Big 10 school I'll pull for against the ACC is Northwestern (excepting UNC of course).

I gotta admit, calling the "Big 10" the "Big 10" because it's always been the "Big 10" when there are now 14 teams is pretty stupid...Then again, how does Syracuse, Louisville, Notre Dame and Pittsburgh make it to the Atlantic Coast?

Just to be argumentative, because that's what football fans are meant to do ....

From any of those campuses you could paddle a boat to the Atlantic Coast. Of course, From ND and Louisville, you'd go down the Mississippi to the Gulf, turn left around Key West, and .... boom! ... the Atlantic Coast!

C-L-E-M-S-O- ...... -N!

(Excellent Point, HotRodZilla. Maybe they when they run out of fingers, they figure there's no need to count beyond Ten.)

No truer words spoken.

If victories were decided on rankings, then #1 ranked UNC wouldn't have lost a recent BBall game to some unranked team.

I love it when any team beats a team from the East. In any sport.

Watch it Mike, You are talking basketball now and that UNI (University of Northern Iowa) team is a very good team… not that I am lovin' that game.

The team is out of Cedar Falls (Div. 1AA) Basketball only requires 5 starters, so smaller schools can compete with the big boys (i.e. Indiana State w/ Bird)

Also the later in the season the more accurate the polls are.

BTW- The Iowa Hawkeyes were not ranked until well into the season…

And I'm a Tarheel fan--I love it when they beat ANY team, but Mid West teams especially! (Except Northwestern, of course)

I was there and saw the 1982 championship team play several times, with Sam Perkins, James Worthy, and an insanely talented freshman named.....you know who....

^^^^^ I was a few months from graduating when "that" Tar Heel basketball team came to Atlanta's Omni to play Tech. My infant son, less than a year old, was in a baby carrier tucked against my chest for that game. I enjoy reminding him that he and I saw Michael Jordan play basketball.
