That is sad, freaky, and hilarious at the same time. I happen to know who owns the "HO" in "SHOEI" helmet.

I'm sorry to say I can't possibly explain to a non-LD rider how this pose is better than a hotel room....other than you'd have to be an LD rider to understand. [sigh]

And NOBODY ever show this to anybody's mother. They would freak.

Good shot Lisa! This is as good as one of those spy photos of a car before it's released to the public....or a Marlin Perkins video of the Geico Gheko. ;)

You all would have to see the photos of the National Meet where Tobie is messing around with people sleeping in the lobby of the Mariott. I was laughing so hard as Tobie posed with the sleeping rider that I had a hard time keeping the camera still. I'm holding out on posting those photos..... I need a few bucks to pay for a new bike for Tobie after his bike broke down and we had to rent a U-haul from Kansas to Washington.

We don't call him Big Chief Stinky Pants for nothing.

Whut broke?
Just that pesky ignition. But, with 135k it's the first time it's had a problem.
Lisa, I hope my experience at National Meet with my ignition switch failure on my 06 AE(2nd one to boot!) did not hex Tobie's 03. Great being with both of you and thanks for lots of great advice about the IBR. To me the guy on the table looks like Mr. WC, correct??

I've found that AZ has some of the best rest area picnic tables around (concrete, too). But i lay flat on my back to use the back pad in my jacket as a sleeping pad. the helmet makes a great pillow. since i don't remove my ear plugs, the screaming meanie goes right next to the helmet at 120dB.

i can't wait to see the photos you're talking about, lisa!

just dont try this in mississippi, They dont have rest areas, Just area to pull off and park. Not tables, shelters or even grass that has been maintained. Had to sleep on my bike. It sucked.

I stopped for a 45 minute power nap on my return SS1K from NAFO at the Mobil station just before Tioga Pass, home of the famous Whoa Nellie Deli. It was 4:15am, place was closed, but the bathroom was unlocked.

I just laid down next the bike, in full gear (warmer that way), on the blacktop, with my fleece pants as a pillow. Then, when it was light enough to see the deer in Yosemite, I continued on my merry way....

So, yeah, I can relate to that picture. Thanks for the memory.

Yea, you hexed him good, TD. Now it's gonna cost me the price of a new bike. He's been looking for any excuse to upgrade his platform.

If you buy him a new bike can I get the fuel cell off the 03. It just wouldn't look good on a new bike. :D

Aussie style, taken earlier this year.

Ok I cheated and took the photo after I woke up on a timer but I did sleep there a couple hours. Thats my bike cover in its bag as a pillow.

A few years ago near where I lived, there was a murder at a rest stop, so I have had trouble making myself take a nap at rest stops. I understand the need but just don't know if I could feel OK doing it.
