I saw the following post over on the Adventure Rider Forum in the thread "How Old Are You":

Still rolling I'm 70, ride a 2010 1200GS (damn near every day, year round), last bike '04 F650GS, first ride 1950's Vespa, longest ride 1963 from north of Washington, D.C to Panama City, FL via the Blue Ridge Parkway on a 305cc Honda Super Hawk (Hey! Nobody told me!). Hope to keep rolling well into the future; looking forward to a K1600GT when I get old...
I believe Don already has purchased one of these old man conveniences if I am not mistaken.

That would be the deer-slayer bike. You can't believe everything you hear on ADV. That's a 70 year old who took his longest ride 40 years ago, and never crossed a time-zone.

Yeah...For an old dude, Don is pretty young on the inside. Even if he does look like old petrified elephant poop on the outside.

... and never crossed a time-zone.
I'm surprised that anyone from California would know about time zones since we hardly ever see any of the Kali crowd east of the Rockies.

Then again, I guess it's hard to get a bunch of nuts to roll that far uphill.

Is there such a thing as new petrified poop?

It takes a manly man to cross over east of the Rockies

A Preist said to a precocious six-year-old Don, "So your mother says your prayers for you each night? That's very commendable. What does she say?"

The little Don replied, "Thank God he's in bed!"

Not much has changed ....

If you see one cornfield you've seen them all... ;)
I'd hate to have you be my tour guide...if the only thing you can think of visiting east of Kali is corn fields. :headbonk:

:D
I have to agree. The corn fields only go for 1000 miles or so. Or you can go the southern route and hit 1000 miles of desert and wickedly straight roads.

Honestly, having never ridden west of the Mississippi, I'm really no one to judge.

Well see, there you go again, triyng to make this about me...but aside from coast to coast trips the past 2-years, this thread is about El Papa Chuy, the most interesting man in the world. :yahoo:

When Don goes on a ride, everyone rides to him first.

Deer bow down in front of him in awe, and he just runs em over!

If he were to pat you on the back, you would list it on your resume.

When in Rome, they do as he does.

Police often question him, just because they find him interesting.

The pheromones he secretes effect people miles away… in a slight, but measurable way. (ask MEM)

When he goes for a swim he doesn’t get wet, the water gets him

He doesn't always drink beer, but when he does, he drinks a lot!

Awesome dude, and you called him "old and over the hill"? I'm sure glad I'm not you!

EAST of the Rockies-corn

Rockies WEST - fun!

SW Sconnie is fun and the UP rocks plus I'm sure there is a few other good places it's just all the corn in between that gets old real fast. :p

Sure! It's what happens when Don eats lots of beans.

Or so I've heard...

If you see one cornfield you've seen them all... ;)
Really? Are you SURE about that??

Like I said IN THE PREVIOUS POST...

Just off the top of my head without thinking real hard, naturally, I can think of a route that would start in SE Oklahoma, head north and east through Arkansas and Missouri, head across KY and southern Indiana, hit SE Ohio, WV and all of the Appalacians. You could spend all summer doing this route and not be bored.

Corn.

You sure are funny there bud... :D

This thread has been up for more than 4 hours and he hasn't jumped in? He's been napping a lot lately... :( a sure sign of diminished prowess!

Over the Hill? Sheeeeee-ut dude! He was Over the Hill a long time ago. Hell, he's been through the woods and to grandmother's house several times now.
