What bike are you comparing your FJR to? It will make a huge difference. I remember the first time I rode a Busa and came away very unimpressed, but then again I had just come off of riding a turbo charged Blackbird that was making 225 hp at the rear wheel. That was a fast bike... or so I thought at the time. Fast forward a few months... now the Busa was turbo'd and putting out 325 hp at the rear wheel. When I went back and rode the Blackbird, I was wondering where all the horsepower had gone. It really don't take long to warp your internal gyro I guess. Now that was some addictive horsepower.

Excellent point Grady! This stuff is really so completely relative and subjective.

Like so many things in life, it is, and will be, what you want it to be. ...or something else.

If yer lookin' for scary fast...put some bags on a Busa and see how many 500 mile days you can do on a trip.

The trick will be keeping the date and location a secret from all those feisty 2nd genners. We wouldn't want them crashing our superior party...
Sounds like it ought to be located next to a dragstrip...so the Gen Is and Gen IIs can battle it out. ;)

I suggest Lowden State Park in Oregon, IL...with the Byron Dragstrip only a couple miles away. Both are along the Rock River, south and west of Rockford, IL...home of the famous TriggerT.

How about Death Valley in late July? We'll see how many hot-running Gen I's show up then ... !

Turbochargers can't be considered... :)

The 'little devil' of a "snail" spinning at 'who knows how many tens of thousands of rpm' and pressurizing the intake system -- and then feeding on itself (like a snake eating its tail) and with all the boost needing a limiter...! Well..., it's all just frightful...

Still..., you really haven't experienced performance 'till you've experienced a relatively high amount of boost (15 ~ 20 lbs.) -- especially, on a motorcycle.

Update: Things are looking a bit better. I put Techron concentrate in, did the BJM, removed the smog mess and did another TBS. Bike seems to run smoother and is more responsive. The bike is plenty fast and capable of allowing me to get in trouble if I make a bad choice. Thanks again for all the help.
