Remember this is the guy who, after planning a full 24 hour route during his first rally (no wiggle room), went on to DNF when he couldn't make a mid-rally call-in requirement (that few others could make due to switch board problems at the host hotel). Others facing this problem went on, adapted, and overcame. Not this guy. For 3 years following he ranted in every forum he thought he could get an ear (including FtF). The last time he tried it with me (at the same rally 2 years later), I told him to FOAD; no one cared about his FUBAR. If he was that angry why was he still continuing to ride the rally by the same RM?

One year he even asked the Q&A line of the rally if the same "*******" was going to be hosting it (RM) as the previous year. Of course the same RM hosted it every year and guess who read that mail box? The RM was a nice enough guy to let him continue to ride in spite of all that trouble, but it was because the RM was dedicated to helping the charity that the proceeds went to.

We're dealing with a serious problem child. Understanding that is 90% of dealing with what happened with that other board. He started it, asked for cash to support it, used the work of others to build it's popularity and then kicked them out when they dared question the hosting company. He was an absentee landlord until he kicked all his administrators off and, during that time, started tossing out accusations of how others were using him to advance their efforts when the reality was just the opposite.

Better to wipe the dust off your feet and move on. Let the board sink under its own weight. It has enough cash from us eary users that the final gasp will take a while, but it'll eventually happen. The outcome is inevitable based on the mindset at work over there.

--i've kept this info on the qt until now. he's been allowed to be a bigger pita than he deserves. it gives him too much visibility.

I would imagine that post hack, all the original beginning threads here are gone. That being the case, you newer guys missed out on some interesting **** from the early days. You can't imagine what a breath of fresh air this place offered at the time. It's been said before, it deserves to be said again-Good On Ya Slappy.
