Come on, what do you expect for 40K....functionality, comfort AND good looks.......sheeze.

(Yeah it's uber ugly...unless parked next to a victory vision)

Thanks 'Shiny', I hardly ever look at tests of Choppers/Customs -- but, that one was interesting. It is refreshing to see something different than the standard, tired, fare.

The specs tell the story:

  • 1800+cc -- 97 hp (at the crank)
  • 850 lbs (admitted to...)
  • 85 in. wheelbase
From the article:Lows

  • Builds power slowly
  • Cruise-ship feel
  • Brakes are only adequate
  • It doesn’t tip into turns, but edges over slow

Big Bear Chopper's version of a sport-touring bike.....very kewel! B)

At least they're trying something different. One of my work-mates has a chopper and recently built a bagger as a stablemate, for weekend trips. There is a market for something like that and I hope he sells a lot of them.

Yes, it's looks are certainly not pleasing to MY mental picture of a touring bike. It looks to me like the offspring of an older GSXR and a HD Road Glide ...and is certainly "strange" to my eyes and sensibilities.

I do like the "rolex ranger" slam in the comments. Why does the front fairing make me think it was stolen off a 1st gen GSXR....?

MadMike understands understanding. Understand? I l kind of like it. So there.

What are these "pushrod" things of which they speak? Do they help the motor rev higher or something? Should I add some to my FJR?

Everything behind the front fairing is nice. Good teardrop shape in the back.

But the front fairing looks like a barn door and does not fit the rest of the bike.

Certainly not the bike for me, but I could see some folks liking it. Imagine a wealthy, tall, heavily built new rider. Wouldn't like to admit that riding a bike scares him silly, but wants to participate in the image. He needs something that he can putter about on, that will carry a big guy.

We all ride for different reasons. Most of us on the forum value similar attributes for our ride, but others want something quite different. What a good thing it is that we have choices!
