My neighbor used to try wheelies on ST1300. He never got the front wheel more than 9" off the ground for about 3 feet!!
FJRs rule!
Actually, In the last few months I owned the ST I was able to wheelie it for quite a distance with some practice. And yes, you've got to be right around 5-6K rpms and roll-on hard and up it comes! No prob!

And who says shafts can't wheelie?????
HA!! it don't count if no one sees it buddy!!! :bleh:
My dad can vouch. he was behind me on his Ultra Classic. :p
Oh yeah!...yeah....well....umm....damn! odot! where's odot??? help me out here! :dntknw:

And for my 3rd post on this forum, I want to say that this emoticon :bleh: is very disturbing...

Behold the shaftie wheelie!
Wow! Helluva video. Wheelies, passing on double yellow, run in with LEO, pretty much your standard group ride! Only thing missing was the inevitable get-off suffered by some poor ******* riding over his limits at the back of the pack, while trying to keep up with those in front. But hey! Did ya see them pre-Katrina gas prices on the signs in the background? Man it would be cool if THOSE came back.

I wheelied my old Connie a few times, and a friend had a Maxim X shaftie that he almost took over backwards one time.

I've never gotten the FJR front wheel more than a couple inches off the ground, but then I've not really tried too hard either....

I've been lurking around for quite awhile.

I've seen what goes on here. I'm an eSportbike longtime member and my time and resources are limited becuase of my postwhore duties over yonder. I shall continue to lurk. Please continue with your regularly scheduled zany banter.

Now back on topic!!!

:hyper: :hyper:

Hey Hoons,

Do you guys still exist? The Hoons used to post with great regularity a few years ago and I have missed the posts. The Hoons shot that video based out of my little home town of Heber Springs, AR.

So I have been waiting for the next HOONARAMA but in vain. Tell us what you are all doing if anyone is still on this board.

They post over on the UK forum but not here for some reason. Their No Mo Sno ride is scheduled for this coming weekend. But the point about publicizing certain riding styles on the internet is an interesting one. If someone were trying to make a repair or health claim as a result of a wreck during a No Mo Sno, a determined insurance company might find it and use it to disallow a claim.

The Hoons are over on FJRowners.com more than in this one.

They have a ride organized for this weekend in Mena.

Well guys, I was lucky enough to be in that video. What a great time we had. Yeah, they are all meeting fri-sun this weekend.

Heber guy, make a run down there. They are staying at the Harvey House Inn I believe. They'll all filter in between 5 and 7 o clock.

Glenn

So, Glenn, how was it almost completing a ride with the Hoons?

(Yes, I'm baaaaddd, verrry baaad! I'll go to my room now and promise to not slam the door. Do I still get dinner?) :D

Mike you are very Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

I'll have you know I completed 4 before the last one. :D

Glenn

That explains it! The '03's can get it up! :p
Oooookkkaaay, Mr. '03. How would you explain the "still" photos of the red one, which IIRC, only came out in Europe for one year--2002, the same as the North American 2003. Oh, wait a minute, that bike didn't have the French detuned engine. Yeah, that's right! ;) And it didn't have the ARB mandated smog attachments. Yeah, now I'm beginning to understand.

Sorry, Glenn, I could have resisted, but didn't. It's always the "last one" that gets us, isn't it. I find that I am beginning to be more cautious every ride, or at least trying to think waaaayyy ahead. I've been reading too many books like: Proficient Motorcycling, et al.

Guys,

Thanks for the come backs on the HOONS. Glad to know they still exist and are also still HOONING! I would love to meet them but I am going to Memphis this weekend for my Grandaughter's Christening.
