Howie Mainwaring.

You probably read my ramblings about him getting off at 170mph at Monza 6 weeks ago. He has not ridden since. He had screws in his shoulder and one in one of his vertebrae. He came back to the saddle today at the Oulton Park round of the BSB. On his third lap he was 4 tenths outside the record and has qualified 4th for the race tomorrow on a grid where a second covers the top 13. It will be a crying shame if this kid doesn't make it, he was born to race.

Racing abandoned after only 3 laps of Howies race YET AGAIN because of adverse weather. Sponsors, riders and teams alike must be getting very p****d off with this now. This is the third meeting where races have been called off.

I reckon they must move to a 2 day meet with half the racing on Saturday like the AMA.

PS Howie started 4th on the grid, was forced onto the wet grass on lap one by a falling rider. First time round he was 28th, second time round he was 15th, then the race was stopped.
