I've had her for a year but I don't remember her being this damn hot. Maybe it's the Alabama heat/humidity...I have got to find a way to cool her down. The tank is hot enough to really bother me if I touch it. Sitting on the pillion seat is MUCH cooler. I know all about the heat fixes and I tried a few, even insulated the tank already but DAMN it's hot. So hot that I actually choose to drive the car to work. And I would really rather drive the bike.

98º here

Rant over,

James

Let ya drive my GSXR around for a while. It is one thing I notice on this one. My guage reads 220 before the fan kicks in. Exhaust, nice and exposed right by my leg. The heat is just as bad or worse but the thing about the FJR is it is right at the tank, on the GSXR the heat is just all around you but the tank isn't hot.

DOn't miss that :D

Yep, get a 2006. Was 98 here the other day and the only part of me that got "hot" were my feet at a stop light

KM

(I think there is a "heat fix" for the early models posted in here somewhere, but do not know how effective or complicated the proceedure is)

I am sure my bike (03) would not be nearly so hot if I did not read about people bitching about the heat every day. Would you like some cheese with your whine?

110+ degrees. I don't notice any heat off the FJR. What I do notice is fookin heat coming from everywhere. Imagine that.

I am going to experience the Arizona heat on the bike soon... I am going to be staying in Lake Havasu... AND THATS HOT!

I hope my new bagster will protect the jewels with all the extra padding!

Pointless Recurring Thread mean anything.

You want hot, First I normally ride in full gear Joe Rocket Meteor Jacket, Joe Rocket Ballistic 5.0 Pants, Oxtar boots, Power Trip Leather gloves, full face helmet. Come into work and I bring a change of clothes with me, deodorant etc.

This Sunday in Maryland it was over 90 and high Humidity and I went out for about an hour in a 1 piece Frank Thomas Leather. Got home and my wife was helping me get it off. She jumped away when she got the arms down as my shirt was filled with sweat. Good way to lose some weight. :D :p

I will take that 110 dry over our 90+ humid any day.

My vacation in Colorado with 100+ heat was a dream. You lose moisture a lot faster than here but if you remember to drink water it is a cake walk.

Humidity sucks...

Word.

Sad to say that in the populated desert areas (Phoenix, Palm Springs, Vegas) there is so much irrigation and water features that the humidity has gone as high as back east, IMO. Last time I was in Phoenix, it was about 110 with what felt like 90% humidity. Yuck!

Yah its hot Galaxy blue I live in Lake Havasu. Its more like 117 today really FNNNNNNNNN HOT. I went for a ride the other day. You can ownly ride from 4 AM to 6AM or die! Let me put it this way its to hot to take my Boat out! Thats why my pool is five steps from my back door. If you want I can show you some fun rides close by when you come.

98 degrees of Alabama heat and you're blaming your FJR for your discomfort? Surely you jest. You might try getting a big tub, about 24" - 36" diameter and 18" tall. Cut a hole in the bottom just big enough for your legs and butt to fit thru and wear it around your waist. You know, kinda like an upside down dress. Fill it with ice and your choice of beverages. Not only will you look cool and be the envy of all your sweltering biker buddies, you'll actually BE cool! Failing that, you're pretty much doomed.

In January I had two feet of snow while you guys were riding. Today, 77, absolutely perfect day for riding with full gear. Pick your poison.

I still do not under stand the heat issue. For yamaha to put all that re-tooling for that and I quess it weighs more too. I had a connie and now an 05 FJR. I am more interested in other issues when riding like, the little old Lady that might pull out in front of me, or trying to figure out how I can go for a 6000 mile ride for a month or two. I have owned alot of bikes, I love riding this bike. It handles bitchen. And with a little personal farkles its a super comfort. Oh yah and its fast as hell. Even living in one of the hottest places on the planet I still do not under stand the Heat issue. And at what price adding weight, not for me. The FJR is a lite and nimble riding bike for its purpose. Added weight will reduce these attributes. Its so hot today if I go to start my bike this afternoon I bet you it will already be a 4 bars with the cooling fan on!

Dry heat thats how they make rasins isn't it. <_<

I got rid of a new ST1300 because it was hot. Only had a 1000 miles on it.Took the 06' FJR out ,1st time today.Went 58 miles in 75 deg temp. I TRIED to feel heat on the FJR's tank. Could find none. Zero. The ST13 would have been boiling, especially with a brand new engine like the feejer's. Who designed that windshield retract when the engine is turned off? Bozo. Same bozo must have designed that crappy plastic rack. Thing handles good tho, especially leaned way over with power on.Neat! Nice bike. Wondering about gas mileage & range tho.

And I am going to Texas July 7th for Vacation. I must love punishment...

Gotta love it. 100 degree temps and high humidity. Yuck.

I tried to get my wife to move to the West side of the Rockies but I couldn't convince her.

Oh well...
