Awhile back, I’d been up at Alice’s and seen the CanAm Spyder. Had always thought it was a pretty cool looking machine and, from what I’d heard and read, was a pretty fun ride as well. On Saturday, I was headed to dinner in Pleasanton with my dear friends, Scott and Sue (who were also with me when my accident happened last year), and there just happened to be a CanAm dealer nearby in Livermore. So I thought I’d stop by and see what one of these things was like up close.
Scott came over for some moral support and when I asked if it was possible to take a test ride, the sales guy, Kregg, said you betcha! And I just happened to have my gear in the trunk of the car (hmmmm, wonder how that got in there? ), so off we went. We stuck mostly to the streets around the area which were mostly industrial so not much traffic to deal with. It definitely handles differently, more like an ATV, and Scott was chuckling at me trying to lean on it through the turns! Lol It would definitely take a bit of getting used to but would be a good stepping stone to getting back out there with something a little more stable. Now I have to go find that change jar and see if there’s anything left after my purchase with RenoJohn…
