SWEET!!! Good luck with it. I have been looking to retire for some time now but at 38, the wife is sort of frowning on the idea.

Enjoy that FJR!

Congrats!!

You won't regret it. I retired last Nov. My last day to work was right after my 52nd birthday (in Oct) I then burned my Vacation time to Nov 1 and hung it up..

No Regrets.. And Lots of time to put miles on the New FJR

Retirement is a wonderful experience. Wake up in the morning with nothing to do and go to bed at night half done. :yahoo:

A big congrats Ed...ENJOY

I retired in 2002 and never regretted a minute of it...I'm poor, but happy

My time is my own other than my family priorities and committments

I've saved alot of time and received fullfillment doing my own projects, fixing up stuff, and generally fixing what's broke instead of paying someone else to do it.

Well, you have no excuse, Ed:

You must attend my New Orleans Ride to Eat Gathering March 20-23 - see the Clicky in my sig.

Cheers - I'm toasting to you your favorite beverage and when you come to New Orleans, your first meal is on me to celebrate your and my retirement

Attaboy... turn off the lights, close the door and don't look back. New chapter in the book.

Congradulations! :yahoo:

Hope to be doing the same in five years. At least semi retired anyway. Setting up shop at home and hope to work when i want to work not when i have to.

Best wishes headed your way.

Ed, you poor, poor sad man. Sure, say what you will about work, but do you realize that you will no longer get up early in the morning to meet the challenges that work supplies? You'll no longer enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow workers, or the insights and leadership that your supervisors provide. You won't feel the satisfaction that comes with a job well done, or a ...... oh hell, I can't keep this up. Thanks to you, Ed, I will sleep the sleep of the jealous tonight, tossing and turning, torn by visions of what ifs (I KNEW I should have put a thousand on the Devil Rays last season to reach the World Series). You're doing exactly what I would do, swinging a leg over the bike and never look back. Three more years, three more years, three .........

Congratulations Ed!! My mom is retiring this fall before 3M signs a new contract and takes it up the a$$. I know how excited she is after 35 years there, but she doesn't have an FJR to look forward to riding. I think your getting the better deal!! LOL

I'm right behind ya Ed! June 1st for me. I did Daytona last year and had a blast.(23 days) Enjoy. If you get down to Sugarloaf Key look for the Pirate Party at the KOA, it's the week after Bike Week.
