I was commenting to myself that the FJR has finally cured me of early college football and preseason NFL. I do the DVR and I haven't seen any of it and I am still Ok (I think).

If I can stay concentrated on the FJR, perhaps I can finally watch College Basketball in the best shape of my life. Generally my *** gives in as college football and the NFL works their way to the end as college basketball reaches its frenzy. I think I generally pull a groin muscle trying to get off the couch too quickly for another beer, or I wrench my back if I knock the remote off the arm of the sofa.

Maybe football followed quickly by college basketball isn't the most important thing in the world. College basketball still is. And by the way, Coach K brought the USA team to victory. Sorry, I am a Duke fan. No wait, I am a Coach K fan.

Me and my son saw them last year at Duke and the only thing that could have possibly been a better time was driving there on the FJR. It was Duke vs Miami and it was an ugly game, but the crowd was fantastic.

And in the end, we went down to the hardwood and stood there looking out at the seats. We sat in Coach K's seat. We stood on the foul line. If we brought a ball, we could have shot baskets. Very cool and family friendly.

We followed the GPS down and it kinda got us close. We aimed for Duke University and it got us close. It said we were "there" when we were in Duke Forest. We weren't "there" (Cameron Indoor Stadium). So we are driving down a country road looking for someone to tell us where Duke is. We had our Duke Jerseys on (me with Battier and Nathaniel with Riddick). We finally hit civilization and see and old blue haired lady that looked like a grandma.

We jump out of the car and ask "Do you know where, and do you know how to get to Duke?" She looked at us and smiled sweetly.

"Yes I do, you are in Chappel Hill. And I also know how to get to Duke. Figure it out yourself Duke-Boy."

Maybe we should have taken the Duke jerseys off. The old people down there are heartless. Not that there is a rivalry or anything like that.

I like football season too. Being out on this coast where the games run from 9 AM to 12. It keeps the streets a little clearer and am home before the drunks get out of the bars.

Its all good.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the 2008 national champions, the University of Southern California. Perhaps you've heard of them. Multiple national championships, multiple Heisman trophy winners, multiple humiliations administered to wannabes from the SEC, the Big Ten, and the Big 12 (I say this with all due respect). Ain't college football great?

BTW, someone update me on The Vols record so far this year? Me thinks you guys might have a long year ahead of you. I can safely say that being a Razorback fan. We have a new coach and a brand spanking new defense, they're not even out of their diapers yet.

  That's what the know-it-all commetators say about USC every year. Oh sure, they might run the table during the season, but they won't win the title.

that would be 0-1 thank you very much

but only because we felt sorry for the weak sister pac10 conference :p

there will be a lot less riding for me now because.........IT'S FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
Quite the opposite for me. The cooler temperatures of fall draw me out more frequently for rides, and for rides that are of greater distance. Love the fall colors! :bike:

+1

and it might just be my imagination, but I love the way the bike runs when it's a little cooler...

I lost interest in college football...when I graduated from college.

Saturdays are for yard work and riding. Sundays are for football now.

Hate team sports in general....They're always saying there's no " I " in team......Well there's an ( I ) in win....
