Anyone else catch this tonight? Watching those contestants get clobbered in the head by the roided-out Gladiators, I was cracking up, thinking how nice it would be to be great shape like those people, all while I feasted on a big bowl of my daughter's Trix cereal!

Heard a radio ad describe it as " this ain't your grandmother's Gladiators".

Since last night I've had a HUGE crush on "Hellga," the giant blond chick gladiator with the pigtails.

"Crush" seems nice too ... but I don't think I have a shot with her since that "Wolf" guy is on the show with her. <_<

Helga seems a little on the...uh...soft side compared to the other Gladiators and they didn't use her too much. At her size I guess she doesn't move as quick as the others. I use to watch the original Gladiators all the time. At that time my wife was actually training to try out on the show, but she unexpectedly got pregnant and that pretty much ended her chances. She would have done well I think. At 5'9" and 150 lbs of muscle she was as big or bigger than the Gladiators. She was heavy into aerobics and weightlifting at the time and not many girls in the gym were benching 160 lbs at that time. Oh well. The new show seems like fun.

I saw it last night and didn't catch it all, but read my local newspaper this morning and somebody I graduated high school with is competing tonight! Christie was a tomboy through most of high school with a bad haircut, but about her senior year she dialed things in and and every guy in the school was doing double-takes. And she's wicked smart too.

Good for her....I guess I'll have to watch now.

I thought it might be a life jacket, since they're spashing down in the water on nearly every event now. We have some of those that guys wear at work that look like a harness until you pull a cord. Then they look like one of those neck pillow deals that you see people with on airplanes. I could be wrong, though...usually am.
