.... of the Novice group. At lunch on Sat, The organizers TOLD me to go to Intermediate. They were getting complaints about me and my instructor passing everyone and we we spooking the other novices :assassin:

I am a problem child no matter where I roam

I am the red/yellow/white gixxer that is occasionally in frame

My wife was (attempting) to shoot video. I mean this in the nicest possible way, I think she went to film school at the Blair Witch Project:D

In between the close ups of the grass and sky she managed to get some bikes in there, so some of the intermediate group may be film stars if only for a second:rolleyes: https://www.veoh.com/videos/v3658801YeCZEQmX

Also, for those of you who have never been to Barbers, here is a vid I shot from onboard of my FJR last July. My first time ever on a track.

Nice ride Kevin... sorry I wasn't in town to go. Did they at least spike your warn meter first. :assassin:

I, for one, think your wife did a great job of capturing the sound of the event. Maybe next time she can operate the boom mic and have someone else aim the camera.

As for spooking the novices, maybe you should pass more slowly? Or honk right before you come into their field of vision.

If you let the video load and just click into the last 1/3, it's not all bad. In fact, we can see some speed and consistency, decent lines, and repeatability. It actually looks like he's THINKING his way around the track, which is a good thing. No surprises, no big leaps.

Yeah, it's easy to scare the newbies, particularly on a little short track like Talladega. Keep up the good work.

I always liked Talladega grand prix raceway; it's a fun little track.

We ran the WERA endurance events in the opposite direction from your track day.

The pavement looks a lot better than it did the last time I was there in 92, Wow am I getting old!

Glad to hear your enjoying your new toy. :yahoo:

Ok, so the camera work sucks, but I'm sure it's your fault.

Did you remember to bring the tripod?

I thought not. :p

She was actually getting better toward the end. She just needed a little practice.

Really, if she had a tripod to stabilize the camera, it would have turned out much better.

Nice riding, Kevin. B)

Congrats Fencer! That's great news!

Just remember that leaving the track and going back to the street, is just like leaving the topless bar and going to work. You just paid money to do and see something special, but if you try the same thing now, it will cost you WAY MORE!

:)

Does your video camera have image stabilization? If so, turn it off. That's what it looks like, she was tracking the moving object but the camera was fighting her all the way.

...or maybe not.

What kind of job do you have that you can go to after the topless bar? :vampire:

I threw up a little from motion sickness. Other than that, fun vid. You're looking good out there.

I totally got the "Blair Witch" reference. I was like, what the hell...trees that make I-4 noises? Hahaha.

That might be the best analogy I’ve ever heard.

That Jeff guy is hooked up!

I feel yer pain man. I get that all the time, seems as though I can't state my opinion in a "politically correct" fashion most times, usually at work, when dealing with the still 'wet behind the ears' upper management. Big deal, they've spent time in the halls of higher education, still don't have a clue 99.9% of the time.

Yeah I had a bad day

Looks like ya had some fun out there and I'm sure the Videos will improve with time. Keep em comin'

:jester:
