Hadn't planned to ride, it's cold and wet. Then again, why the hell not? 80+ miles in the wet and wild. Road to Atascadero, then to Pozo then up to Black Mountain (3,000+ feet), played in the dirt with some dirty-bikers (they couldn't believe I was on the 'trail' with them :p ) then finally splished-splashed my way home through the stream crossings on Huero Huero rd.

A really fun ride!

..and I can say "I've ridden every day this year!"

Can you?

  :p

Good job, Carver!

I was hoping to get out before the rain hit today but the doorbell kept dingin' with friends dropping by. Got my yaya's out last night at least. Rolled up to Morro then hit Old Creek to 46 and then it got dark so I stayed off 41 to 229 as previously planned and slabbed it home. It got chilly darned quick last night!

Don, I got in about 60 miles today, (some pretty wet), but this afternoon

it was actually quite pleasant.

(Didn't make it to the Norcal group thing - because my riding was to and from WORK.)

Maybe Mr. Carver will get off his Candy *** and join us at Busters on the 29th. :yahoo:

Don, guess I should post a picture of the ice on my street but being as how I'm CBA and have not ridden all year, I'll let it go.
A true pie smuggler would find away, mi amigo! Buy yourself a bunch of them sheet metal screws and get to the screwing! I'd love to see a video of you on your fjr riding with studded ice tires!

I could've ridden yesterday, +7C

'cept the roads are covered in salt and sand, my bikes 100km from here with the bouncy bits removed having new bouncy bits from Ohlins installed. But, it's warm safe and I know the owner of the dealership (who owns two FJR's) goes out everyday and lovingly cleans and polishes a single piece. Should be cherry for the spring!

Sure know how to hurt a guy , don't you. :angry2:

I was on a roll for riding everyday this year until today when work got in the way

We got in some dirty riding this weekend out in Johnson Valley. It was the coldest camping trip we have ever been on. Low of 24 Friday night.

Soggy Dry Lake - Not only is it not dry but it is frozen. Well the top inch is frozen hiding the mud underneath.

Cool Pix Dan! :yahoo: Soggy is one of my favorite ares to ride, lots of varied terrain.

I've never seen so much water, mud, and ice out there. Looked like fun, I have to get out there more often.

Simon, do you have a dual sport motorcycle? I had never heard you mention that before. If so, I send out select e-mails to fellow dual sport bikers about the off road rides that I am involved in.

PS to Dan: Great photos ynotride, Thank You!

I got to go out for a ride on the 3rd, rode to work yesterday...but more snow starting this morning through the end of the week. Not to bad for January in northeast Ohio
