Picked up an antenna at a truck stop. You can use aluminum stock from Lowes or Home Depot to fabricate the support.

Does anyone on this board run a J&M cb radio if so where did they mount there antenna.
I found mine on wingstuff, it has a bracket that uses the lic. mounting bolts, wire comes with a rubber grommet so that the wire hole is sealed. You also have the opitions of different legnth antennas. Did a 4000 mile trip with no problems

 
Antenna from Love's truck stop. Twisted a wrench to hold it all. Painted it black. Attached it behind the license plate. About $45 in it.

I was always worried that the load on the plastic fender would be too much when using something like a Firestick antenna.

have had 2 fjrs with that same set up now. no problems whatsoever. its really not that heavy.

What should i expect to pay for a J&M installed .
i have no idea. my neighbor/motorcycle buddy did both of my bikes. i would estimate 3-5 hours for someone experienced with doing this. longer, if not familiar. sorry i can't help ya more with that one.

I got one of J & m 1 foot antenna and mounted it to the license plate and made a slight bent in the bar and it tucks in nicely under mt GIVI v46
