Maryland, huh? Rain, near freezing temps on many riding days, humid when temps rise in Spring and Fall?

I like the jackets on your short list. I have two of them (or their predecessors). But, they fall short in Quality, in the sense that Quality equates to features that elevate Usefulness as well as longevity or such.

My two favorite Three Season outfits are built around Marsee's top line Adventure Jacket, and the Tour Master Cortech Advanced Jacket.

I wear the Marsee over a T-shirt, T-shirt and camois shirt, T-shirt and Joe Rocket Phoenix rain liner (great warmth and way low bulk to pack), anything and a Darien LINER, anything and a Gerbing heated jacket liner. The setup works for me (with commensurate lower clothing) for all day riding from 10F to 90F. Though a Californian that was what I wore in NJ and MD in the September rains there this year. Incredibly versatile, fully waterproof, and backed up by highly ethical folk, it's Touring Style jacket that's fully compatible with the riding positions an FJR leads to.

Tour Master has regained its place among the top MC clothing vendors the past two years with the introduction of its broad and growing broader Cortech line. The Advanced Jacket is 3/4 style which spans bike styles like the FJR and VFR I own, right on to the naked SV650. But, in rain, it requires a top notch set of pants to prevent leaks at the jacket hem (and Cortech has those if you don't already). I'd choose a slightly less "conformal" size to allow the same range of "middle-wear" I use under the Marsee. Note that I always throw away the lines bundled with jackets.

Also of note, I purchased a pair of Cortech Solution WP Road Boots and am totally thrilled. They are not too hot for Summer wear, allow extensive walking despite my troublesome knees, never leak a drop, and their waterproofed leather is easily kept sparkling. These people are serious about providing Top Line gear.
