So do people wear any protection under their rain suits? I wear my Tourmaster Draft mesh jacket, since I feel that you're more likely to crash in the rain, so you should have protection. Plus it lets air circulate and keeps things from getting as hot & sticky as it usually does. Does anyone else do this?

I told someone today "I'm surprised you drove a *CAR* in this ****!!" and managed to get a drop on the usual stupid comment about the weather. :)

I always wear full gear under my rainsuit. With my Cycleport, I wear my rainsuit under it tho B) (good waterproof liner)

Great post and interesting timing b/c I rode home in the rain last night. I was in my office putting my waterproof pants on, about to put my jacket on, wondering weather or not to put my mesh riding jacket under the rain jacket or just stow it. Seems like rain presents yet another potential risk, so the answer should have been easy...but it wasn't.

I suppose it's also a little bit of an issue of season. If it was a cooler time of year, I'd be riding with a different armor jacket which is waterproof (no need for additional rain gear).

But it's not really an issue anyway as my FJR doesn't fall down (I mean, it hasn't in 890 miles so...) and people in St. Louis drive REALLY well in the rain.

since I perfer leather I carry cordura to put over the top. as I see it, especially for a rain-pansy like me I probabily going to crash in the rain anyway, best to double up on the roadrash protection :)

Rain suit over Motoport (used to be Cycleport) during the summer. During winter months I have the rain proof liner in the Motoport.

Your jacket isn't your rainsuit?
Actually I have a Tourmaster Intake (which is the Draft with rain liner & padding) but the Alzheimer's has set in, and I'd forgot all about it. I'll have to take that tomorrow!

Hot summer days, I wear a mesh jacket and DragginJeans, with a rainsuit in the top box. Otherwise, I'm usually in a 'Stitch.

Since my cold weather stuff is all waterproof, I don't really need a rainsuit once the temperature drops. During the summer; however, I wear a mesh jacket and pants. If it rains, 2-piece suit goes over the top.

I just wear an Aerostich Darien and don't worry about a rainsuit.
:poster_stupid:

Except that I wear a Roadcrafter.

Since the FJR puts out so much heat, I am considering a mesh jacket+pants for next summer. But then it gets back to having to stop and put on a liner if it rains .. and no way to open/close vents in response to temperature changes (like desert->coast or plains->moutains etc) .. and stich is so easy to take off and strip down to shorts and a T when stopped .. and don't have to pack / stow additional gear, etc.
