Hans sent me a text message last night. I'm at my daughter's and have been texting with him this morning.

Evidently he was having some issues and called 911. Yep...heart attack on Wednesday. :dribble:

The emergency room did their assessment and he now has a stint in place. He gets if "final exam" today and expects to be released to go home.

"Fang" is on crutches, having torn her Achilles Tendon 8 weeks ago so things are...er...uhm...interesting for them. Luckily, Em is home and gets to play nursemaid to both her parents.

That's all the information I have. Once he is home and gives me more I'll try to keep everyone updated.

Update: Post #10: He's home.

Wow !! :(

Sorry to hear that , all the best on the recovery JB. If you need to get some adrenaline pumping come lane share up on Highway 17, that'll get the ol' ticker pumping ! Na, better rest up and follow Doc's orders....... change your diet, no sex, no looking at farm animals....

Holy cow! If it had been me I'd have figured it was excess turkey intake and waited too long. Good thing you called when you did. Do what you need to do and feel better, huh?

Thanks for the post, MM.

Sorry to hear the bad news and glad about the good outcome! It's a good thing that you got a somewhat gentle warning that things in your lifestyle need to change so that you can be with us for the long road and not the dead end.

We need you here on the Forum.

The balance of life:

Hope you recover quickly!

JB,

I'm glad you recognized the problem and made the call; many people don't.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

Those damned M&M's will get you every time.

Hans, if you need anything, call.

..and good to hear you're a thinking man, even in times of stress.

Like SacMike, I'd of thought 'wow, too much food'...

<<<<<UPDATE>>>>>

He's ho-ome!

He just had something to eat and is going to get some rest.

Yes I (and I'm sure the medicos) warned him that it will take some time to be back to his normal curmudgeonly self. He'll be "whipped" for a few days and even walking around the house will tire him.

At least he is home where Fang and Em can watch him and get some comfort with him near.

<<<<<UPDATE>>>>>

He's ho-ome!
Glad to hear he is back home... nothing better than creature comforts to help aid the healing process! Thanks for the update, MM, and let him know we're all thinking of him and sending him lots of good thoughts and healing energy. And good luck to Emily... I think she's gonna need it! ;)

It scares me when I hear about someone as healthy looking as Hans have problems...

Best wishes toward a complete recovery!

Hans

Glad to hear that your already home! Sending JUJU for a speedy recovery. Take it easy for a few days 'eh?

Greg

HANS !!! Don't be scaring our collective old man asses, ok?

Rest up, get well. Be nice to Fang lest you suffer the consequences.

Stents are great for quick healing. Having had a triple bypass this summer (because I had a blockage at an arterial junction that couldn't be stented) and having seen my co-patients who did get stented, I'm sure he'll be at full steam within a week.
