Wolfhound: We're at platoon strength! Twelve BMW's from AZ Beemers and eight FJR's from www.fjrforum.com

We are picking up Dan-D from Lake Havasu City and an FJR rider from Yuma in Kingman, AZ if the Spring Mountain Valley Pass from Las Vegas to Pahrump is free and clear of snow. If not, we are going to meet the Colorado River Basin Boys in Parker and go up to Shoshone by way of Baker and cut east to Pahrump.

Lee and Spyderbret (possibly others from the Las Vegas FJR Forum) will meet us at the Pahrump Nugget.

https://www.azbeemers.org/forum/index.php?t...picseen#msg8699 Sergeant Ashby: There are also five riders from AZ Beemers that will be camping at Furnace Creek Campground. They will ride up Thursday separate from us, but they'll ride back to PHX with us on Sunday. Southwest pilot Mike F. flew over Death Valley yesterday: CLEAR; NO SNOW!

I took a ride out to Shoshone today and it was 73 when I stopped for gas. Knock on Wood!!!! I hope this weather holds!!

https://www.dvnha.org/morning_report/Morning.pdf Good News and Bad News: Good News is that the temperatures are still in the mid 70's during the day and dropping down to lows around 40 at night; Bad News is that Titus Canyon is still closed due to snow and ice. So unless Titus Canyon thaws out in the next week we dual sport riders will not be able to traverse it.

Just wanted to recap what is going to happen a week from today on Friday, May 23. We are going to meet at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant located at 1207 N. Litchfield Road in Goodyear, Arizona at 0700 for breakfast; this is at the intersection of Interstate 10 and Exit 128. At 0800 hours sharp (SkooterG!) we will be heading northwest on US 60 to Wickenburg for our first fuel stop at the Chevron Station on Highway 93 located just a mile north of the 93 and 60 intersection. Our next fuel stop will be in Kingman at the Chevron Station on Highway 93; 300 yards north of the intersection of 93 and Interstate 40.

We'll cross over Hoover Dam, with a brief stop at the overlook for pictures, and then northwest on Interstate 515, Nevada.

We'll head west on 215 getting on Interstate 15 south for just 2 miles to Highway 160 exit, which is clearly marked Exit 33.

We will be heading west on 160 to Pahrump. 160 is also known as Blue Diamond Road and we will get fuel at the Chevron Station in the town of Blue Diamond itself. The next morning Saturday, May 25 please be ready for clutches out at 0800 Nevada/California time; 0900 Arizona time. We will be meeting up with the Las Vegas FJR Forum for a ride to breakfast!

Great News: I found out yesterday that "Fast Eddie" Azoyan and Dave Cooley are also riding up to DVD.

I always like to see my "Crazey Davey Cooleyman" go on an AZB & FJR Forum Ride because it gives the Nevada and California Highway Patrolmen someone to concentrate on other than viejo mi, Chuy Medina!

Now if we can just keep Eduardo from auguring his BMW R1200GS into the Death Valley Dirt we are A-OK!!!

I am sorry to say that in light of my recent problems I won't be making this trip. It is one I truly enjoy but can't afford the risk/money since an attorney may be a bit expensive next month. Accept my most sincere apologies....

Wolfhound: Very sorry to hear this FJRobert! Please give my girlfriend Donna a call tomorrow and see if the Attorney she works for can give you some advice on your court appearance. If you can get it reduced to one count of speeding, take it!!!

spyderbret: Can I count on you to lead the road trip on Saturday after we have breakfast at Furnace Creek? Since Titus Canyon is open at this present time, I don't know what the latest precipitation is going to do regarding that, and half of our crew is on BMW GS dual sports I will be leading them on a dirt ride. If you could please take the group to Scotty's Castle!

It would be my pleasure to lead a ride to Scotty's Castle!

Do you have a time frame in mind? Meet for lunch or anything?

Were you, Lee and the other Las Vegas FJR Forum still planning to meet our group at the Pahrump Nugget at 0800 NV time?

If so, we will all ride to Furnace Creek for breakfast together. After we chow down, we all will head North; I will break off with the dual sport GS riders for Titus Canyon and you can lead the road bikes to Scotty's Castle. Rendezvous later in PM!!!

Yes. We will be there by 8am local. Sounds like a great plan. See you Saturday Morning! If anyone needs my cell number it is 702-401-4674. (Bret)

:clapping:

Good Morning Bret, I am up and packing my bike for meeting the Group in a few hours. I had sent you a private message a few minutes ago regarding leading these AZ Beemers to Scotty's Castle. There is just one guy I need to warn you about.

"Crazey Davey" Cooley, aka COOLEYMAN: 65 years old and muy loco. He and SkooterG make a perfect riding couple and they indeed do ride together often. GregM and DaveC are both complete squirrels on their bikes, just let him ride out alone!
