The 250 race was a procession at first but warmed up nicely and was excellent towards the end with an incredible scrap for the lead between Bautista and Simonchelli. They had pulled out an 8 second lead on the rest and entering the last lap Simonchelli allowed Bautista to take the lead with the intention of a last corner pass. It went horribly wrong when 2 corners from home he went in too hot and took them both out. The stewards will be involved as he quite obviously was playing around. Although he appologised immediately, he will be in deep doo doo with his own team as well for buggering about when he had the lead.

Kallio won with Passini second, who won last time out at Qatar in his this his rookie year, he now leads the championship.

I almost turned off the race, it was so boring in the first half, but I'm glad I stuck it out!

I had myself convinced that the incident was actually a result of Bautista checking up for some reason. I'm not so sure, now, but part of me still thinks that's what happened.

I agree. In the replays it looked to me like Bautista started to lose it and backed out. Simonchelli had nowhere to go but down with Bautista.
