Yikes! And I thought it was cold here in Chicago yesterday.

Isn't that the same Kurt Wainman who owned a truck company on "Ice Road Truckers" last season? Business must be good to afford a $24k GS for a one-night camping trip. The flames, however, gotta go. :D

The flames are coming from the final drive. :dribble:

Wow. What will they think of next?! I wonder where I can get me some 'o dat?

dont' forget... "James, Wainman and others slept in heated tents, which he said wasn't the ideal situation."

What, unheated tents would be ideal"?

Maybe cause the didnt' have hot tubs!

Guess that guys that ride dogsleds and the Native Americans that have been traveling for thousands of years up there don't count....

oh... yeah.... they didn't have bikes, heated clothing and tents, snowmobiles and a whole camera crew to keep them warm and fuzzy! ...just dogs and skins and fire!

I hope the clowns in NY don't get any ideas... could you imagine camping for a week with Paul, Pauly and Mikey? EEcchhh!!!!!

Did any of you watch that episode? What was the helmet that they were wearing. Looked very different - seemed to have a flip out mouthpiece and the shield looked really thick.

Ya...I DVR'd it and watched it last night. It was pretty cool. I liked how they had Jesse change a tire in a freezer just to see if he could do it. The gear was cool, and the helmets looked to be specific for that type of cold. I'm sure a standard full-face helmet would cause some frost bitten lips.

I thought it was funny that the narrator went on about how "Jesse James" made the 125 mile trip to Tuk, but seemed to conveniently forget that Kurt rode right along with him with his own homemade ice tires. Jesse woulda ended up being bear meat if it had not been for Kurt. Hellavua ride either way. They topped out at something like 83mph on the ice.

Okay, never been a JJ fan or the entire custom bike builders on TV thing he started.

BUT... I have to say, even with a support crew and a helicopter, that's a hell of a ride.

I have to give the man respect for it.
