Went to the Journey/Def Leppard concert last night here in The Woodlands (just outside if Houston). Great show, they sound great as ever; Journey had a temporary lead singer, Jeff Soto (as the new 'regular' guy Steve Augeri was out with a throat infection) who was excellent and a great showman. Of course, no rock concert would be complete without at least one obligatory well endowed scantily-clad 'concert *****' on the front row that the cameras just happened to catch a few times B) .Feeling a bit nostalgic, I got in line to buy a T-shirt...let's see, last one I bought, 1981, was..15.00; now? 30., 35., or 40. depending.. Holy Sh*t! I'm in the wrong business! They had a baseball jersey style shirt for 90....sure. I was surprised with the amount of teenagers that were there; (they probably grew up listening to it because of their parents) and some of those girls were...uh..I mean....well where were they when I was in high school? B)

Fun show to check out if they come through your area..better take a gold card.

Did you break out the lighter for the slow songs? :D

 Funny you should mention the lighter thing...YES, there were those that 'flicked their bics' during the ballads! I wouldn't have believed it unless I had seen it myself. It's hotter than hell there this time of year complete with high humidity and no breeze (the facility is surrounded by trees) no problem..they were letting the bottled water go for 'only' 3.50 each.. Def Leppard had some fun, showing old MTV video footage (from 20 some odd yrs. ago) of themselves on the jumbo screen behind the stage during the show. It was humorous to see those guys so young, with the long hair. Hey! Those *******s still have their hair; in fact the lead guitarist (Phil Collen) hasn't aged a bit...where did I go wrong? :dribble:

glad ya had a great time...

h#ll, I drove four hours last night to Philly to see the Aussie band: the Living End. Now THAT was an incredible show... Chris Cheney is one freakin' amazing guitar player. Incredible. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Those cats kicked ***. Got back home at 6:30 this morning.

Ticket price? $16.

Their merch? CDs = $10, t-shirts = $15.

uh huh, step away from the big business nostalgia acts...

there is some amazing music still being done!
