Who were the poor drenched *******s riding in Julian today? I saw a single FJR riding two up, and later, two FJR's parked at a roadside market. The rain was INCREDIBLE!

Saw a big group of Harley riders in their leather chaps and bowl helmets on the side of the road too. Those guys looked like a bunch of drown rats... totally miserable.

For once I was very happy to be in my gas guzzling SUV.

I was close to Julian, but was actually aiming for Mesa Grande. I was up by Santa Ysabel yesterday afternoon when the rain starting coming down so I turned it around headed back down through Ramona. Cold, windy and wet....good fun.

I was through there on Saturday. Beautiful weather. Breakfast at the Paradise.

79 S. to the S2/S22 cutoff. Down the Glass Elevator to Borrego Springs. Out S3 to 78. 78 to S2. S2 to its end at Ocotillo(Saw almost no one the whole way. Just a border check northbound). West on 8. A quick detour down to Cameron Corners to see what was down there(nothing). Picked up S1, sidestepped to Pine Valley where I got robbed for gas(3.29 for 87). Back up S1 through Mt Laguna to Julian. Way too many people in Julian by the time I got there(12:30). 78 to Ysabel, then up 79 to Mesa Grande. It comes out on 76. 76 back to 79, and then home up Sage Rd to Hemet.

a 350 mile circle. Nice weather all the way. Except for around Julian, I had the road to myself. I'm glad I didn't wait until Sunday. It wouldn't have been as much fun. We should all get together for a group ride around this area some time.

Sorry to hijack the thread.
